Ultimate Collection Mailweek Part 5

The below cards are what i have received over December.

The Rodman card states on the back that the patch is from when he was playing for the Pistons, Looks more like it would have been when he was playing for the Bulls.

The Marion patch is from an Allstar game jersey.

The Malone card cost me over double the BV, mainly cause there are 2 people on ebay that just collect Malone patch cards from this set and have over 40 between them (i have seen there photobucket site). When you consider that there are only 75 made sometimes you have to be prepaired to pay alot more for them or miss out.

The Antoine Wright card I bought off a person i meet from ebay, this person first emailed when he realized that we where competing against each other for cards from this set and driving the prices up. So now we email each other and take it in turn to bid for certain cards that we want to win rather than driving up the prices. There is also another person on ebay that only goes after Antoine Wright cards from this set and has about 30 of them. Very frustrating.

some pretty cool patches there andrew, its frustrating but i guess we all have to compete with other collectors, no matter what we collect (shane battier being the exception of course )

Is it just me or do those non-stitching patches suck? i dont know where they are from (shorts? warmups?) but if it doesnt have that stitching its not a proper patch for me. and 05/06 ultimate ive noticed have a lot of those patches, much more than past years.

Gotta give some love to Antoine Wright. Thats a sweet patch. And I agree with you, the Rodman does look like it comes from a Bulls jersey. This is a great looking set to collect, nice work.

I like the Mailman, didn't know he had a patch this year! Always a nice Jazz patch out there too.

thats for all the great comments guys. Jza the patch cards that don't have the stitching on them seem to only be from the older players, such as Magic,Isiah,Rodman and the patch on the Jordan card i have seen looks identical to the patch on the Rodman card.

I know what you mean about bidding against others when going for a set, especially if it's always someone you run into all the time.
