Tuesday Afternoon Beef.....I Hate Australia Post

4:50pm Got home at and found 2 post office notices stating I had parcels to pick up.

4:50pm Think..... awesome mailday!!!!

4:51pm In the car leave home for post office.

4:59pm Arrive in shopping centre car park.

5:00:02pm arrive at post office front door where the manager was pulling down the shutter......he mumbled... what do you want.....I showed him the 2 registered article slips and he glumly says........come back tomorrow we are closed....

Im not happy.......pardon the pun but I nearly went postal.....

So instead of having 2 great cards to post (One a star Auto, and one a new Exquisite card)...Im left with nothing but a damn census form to read.....and it now looks like I wont be able to get to the post office tomorrow either!

Ive had that happen, i went back the next day the bloody postie had accidentally grabbed it to deliver again. Being on my way to work i had to wait till the following day to pick it up.

I've had that happen before too. But went to another PO to send something off, and was gonna be about 10 mins late, and the lady said she'd stay open.

Must be just some people, since not all POs are owned by Aust Post, they're just run by em.
 
I went to my local one once because a post box was on fire...did they care? nope...it was closing time!
 
Mine isn't too bad, but there's a real b....i.....t.....c.....h that's just started working there. She's very rude and too the point, and that's all she says, lol. She makes her point rudely and that's it, lol.
 
There's a cool Chinese guy that works at my local post office. He always makes jokes when I get mail from the US and about my po box, as it's number 666. It's like he's always happy..

My Local PO is great, they would have let me in if I had been in that situation !
 
Nah see i disagree, i wouldnt expect him to walk back in and get the stuff. Your after five, they are closed its simple. Get there earlier or wait. posties get paid by the hour like you and me , i wouldnt go outta my way to accomodate someone after closing time especially when im not gettin paid for it.

Technically you are correct, I was there after 5, however having worked serving customers and being in the same situation as the post office worker myself, as a rule, we always made sure the customer was looked after....even if they were a minute or 2 late.

We generally called it Customer Service 1.01.
