Thinking of chasing a set, either 90s or early 2000s. im newish to the hobby so not really educated on the old school cards. Any ideas would be much appreciated, preferably something with MJ in it. Thanks in advance

not an insert as such, but try complete the Collectors Choice Gold Signature parallel. What were they, 1 per box? in a 400+ card set?

Both above suggestions are great.

You could get a ton of gold sigs from comc.com to start you out.

Then Id hit up the beckett marketplace shops (probably burbank) could fill some more holes, then spend the next year or so chasing the harder ones.

I think the MJ gold sig is a baseball card, right?

Cut Above are sexy cards too

Beam Team Members Only

or

1996-97 Fleer Total O (pretty hard to find but won't bankrupt you). 10 cards in the set I think.

E-x2000 credentials:) MJ and kobe cost a bit, but the rest would just be fun to hunt down.

Its only 80 cards too, right @ben82 ?

Each card wont cost too much, but a full set can sell for $3000+

Oh yeh, and just so you know, cos its hard to see in pics, the blue sky and clouds on e-x2000s (inc credentials) is actually see through acetate. Thats why we're saying how crazy they look.

96-97 Fleer Metal had a heap of great insert sets, Scoring Magnets, Platinum Portraits, Slick Silver.
93-94 Scoring Kings is one of my all time fav sets.
