1) Few teams can fit two years @ $700k into their salary cap and 2) not many teams will give Carlton what they desire for a player with his on field record, especially with the upcoming 'tainted' drafts.
It's Carlton's way of telling big Fev to straighten up and fly right while proving to Australia that they are a responsible club. Put your
bottom dollar on their football manager saying "we couldn't attract a suitable offer, therefore Fevola will stay at Carlton."
But you did say you wouldnt be a member if fev wasnt there??
In regards to the "being human" thing....almost ALL other players in the AFL seem to understand that they are PROFESSIONAL athletes and the small price they pay to earn big money ($750k/yr) and being idolised from thousands is that they cant make public idiots of themselves....eg
The thing about Fev is that he is a good bloke, and if he were an average joe no-one would give a crap.
He is not an alcoholic, but he has problem with alcohol control (something which I can unfortunately relate too) when he DOES drink.
I am also leaning towards this being a smokescreen and that he will stay at the Blues (he really does love the club) however if he goes, surely the Doggies will be the obvious choice?
