RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. — For the better part of the last two days, a star-studded cast featuring the most spectacular rookies from the 2016 NFL season spent quality time behind the scenes at the 2017 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl delivering one impressive performance after another for Panini America. In an event that has become known as the NFLPA Rookie Closeout, Panini America officials hosted 13 top rookies for an entertaining — and intensive — signing session.
The results — which have played out live on the Panini America Twitter and Instagram feeds — have been simply spectacular. One after another, the game’s biggest rookies camped out in a jam-packed Panini America suite for often-raucous, always entertaining signing sessions that will pay dividends for collectors well into the future.
The guest list for this year’s event is quite impressive and includes Jared Goff, Paxton Lynch, Jordan Howard, Derrick Henry, Michael Thomas, Kenneth Dixon, Wendell Smallwood, Tyler Boyd, Alex Collins, Tyler Ervin, Braxton Miller, Demarcus Robinson, Laquon Treadwell and Jonathan Williams. They signed for upcoming releases such as 2016 National Treasures Football, 2016 Flawless Football, 2016 Encased Football and 2016 Plates & Patches Football; some got caught up current releases such as 2016 Optic Football.
Throughout the process, the assembled star power shared stories from their collective rookie seasons, conducted media interviews, participated in live group breaks with Ulitmate Box Breaks, Cardsmiths Breaks, KT Authentics and Jaspy’s Hobbyland. In short, their performances during the NFLPA Rookie Closeout were just as impressive as their respective rookie campaigns.
