I HATE the fact that there are so many cards listed for stupid prices that get re-listed over and over and over and over and over.........
I remember looking at a K Love certified gold auto on ebay nearly a year ago listed for $599 (about $525 more than what they are selling for) and had a chuckle. I came across it again last night, still listed for $599! Face palm.
I know what you are saying about the mixed emotions. And it comes both ways to. If you do finally bite the bullet shell out the cash and take the ramming, then you get the card and its not exactly all you dreamed it would be you go through those emotions all over again.
Then on the flip side you dont get it and spend the next 2 years wishing that you had not of been a tight arse telling yourself everyday what a moron you are.
I deal with it by having limits and there are a lot more cards i wish i had of gotten through the last year but let them go because they are just too over priced. Having said that i wish penny's credentials could settle on the cheaper side a couple of weeks ago one sold for over 900 and it was only numbered to 77. (relisted now so hard to know if it was bogus bidding or a genuine non payer.)

That was bogus for sure....had like 150 bids or something. The SPX finite sold yesterday for $500...pretty good price I imo. I sold my Penny credentials now /18 for about $500 8 months ago, 18 months after buying it for $300.
I dont think the prices are unreasonable on the Paytons. High, yes. But not stupidly high.
Looks like someone else got both the credentials and thunder rave. The guy said he'd email me, never heard back from him then those two cards aren't listed anymore. Funny that they disappeared right after I mentioned which cards I really wanted.
Last time I post my wants on an internet forum, there's too many snakes reading and waiting to take advantage. Now I can see why so many collectors are so secretive. Raging right now!

Theres some shady characters in this hobby for sure. Thats why i've sold off my MJ's, too much shadyness with pretty much every high end mj card that goes up for sale. I refuse to get scammed by these aholes
I see so many Aminu's I'd like to buy listed with crazy priced BIN's. If I really need the card and it's low numbered or something, I generally give in, but if it's a really nice patch or jersey numbered and it's a crazy price, I just leave it.
That being said, some of the 90's Kemp inserts I'm chasing go for crazy prices. A couple of times tho I've chuck in low bids to test my luck and have pulled it out and been stoked. I don't have the income for the real high end stuff (pmg's, rubies, low numbered credentials etc) but if I see something at a decent price I'll always take a stab!

Yeah the credentials /77 was bogus it then sold for over $600+ after it was relisted (it also had a bad corner on the front). The SPX finite spectrum /50 was mine and was lucky enough to have doubles of it and am very picky about shipping overseas. If i shipped overseas more often i think It would have done better.I sold it to Phil a huge Penny collector in Germany he was the high bidder.
I have had a great 2012 when it comes to adding the rare 90's stuff into my Penny PC,I have a huge mailday to share with everyone when the time is right .I have been pretty tight on funds lately but just have been keeping a lot of my additions a secret until i can unleash them all at once on a mailday thread haha.
As far as the OP's topic... there has been so many times i have to sit and drool over cards I see listed but know I will never own...many times i dont even bother to bid on them because I already know in my head they are way out of my range.Patience/connections has been virtue for me when it comes to landing some of the 90's monster cards.Sadly with the majority of these rare cards patience is running thin because you simply just dont see them show up on the market anymore and when you do the sellers have a HUGE BIN and just yield offers from the rich guys.
