To the 90's player collectors

I HATE the fact that there are so many cards listed for stupid prices that get re-listed over and over and over and over and over.........

I remember looking at a K Love certified gold auto on ebay nearly a year ago listed for $599 (about $525 more than what they are selling for) and had a chuckle. I came across it again last night, still listed for $599! Face palm.

You're never going to be able to pick up those iconic inserts for cheap. So much competition for them not just from the PC guys but also with the set collectors.

For me, I always have a max price in mind and that I won't go over. Mainly because I'm stubborn though but I'd rather not have the card than get it and feel bad about overpaying.

Those prices do seem to be high. I guarantee most of those won't sell.

Surely the seller would cut you a deal?

Whenever people sell with a starting price like that, buyers ALWAYS wait (90% of the time anyway).

You've been pretty lucky in scoring some of your Paytons at a great price.

I'd try offer him a deal a little lower than what he wants for the main cards in there you want like the Credentials /23, that won't come around again for a LONG time. Set collectors mixed with player collectors going for Credentials makes for a long wait.

Thats what im thinking, I offered him pretty much what he has them starting at so on the high end of the scale imo. lol at him doing me a deal though haha

You're right I did pretty well on all my other Glove inserts so maybe I should just bite the bullet, even things out in the universe

It is still a buyers market though, so a little patience and you'll do well. I just think you want to lock up the main couple of rarer ones.

You could wait on some but if I were you I'd be going after the credentials/23 and the pmg!! It's not very often you lose on a card if you hold on to them for a while even if you pay $100 or so too much.

Patience is not one of my strong suits, now i've finally spotted them I want them. All the ones im after as I said I havn't seen ever in my 2 years searching.

Sounds like your sorted then!! Show him the money... I didn't pay what I sold my credentials /18 for but I certainly would have paid $1000 in a heart beat. How many of those bad boys are still in packs or never to be seen again..

Make sure you land that Credentials. I think you could get it cheaper but you want that one bad so I'd pay up. The others I'd let it play out, see if anyone bids?

Yeah the Credentials has to be done and the Thunder Rave #/25. How many of those exist? Suposedly alot of those cases were destroyed due to the lockout season.
Just a shame he doesn't have the SPX Grand Finale, that'll move to the top of my most wanted should all go to plan with these.

Good news is the SPX Grand Finale are on the move price wise, that usually brings them out even if you have to pay a it more.

Interesting about the lock out.. For some reason I found the spx grand finale the hardest to find, closely followed by the credentials /18.

I paid $600 for my PMG green haha I guess with the prices i've paid on the majority of my GP's I really shouldn't be such a tight arse.

$600 for the green, wow. Mark Jackson finished just Monday for $2200!! When I was first collecting in 2004 a guy had 3 different duncan pmgs from 97-98. He wanted $50 each for two of them and $300 for a little green one... I say no more

Back in those days I thought $30 for a card was astronomical. If only we had Marty mcflys almanac!!

Yeah and I was a bit apprehensive paying that too There was 2 of them for sale at the time, kicking myself I didn't grab them both.

Wish I was still collecting a few years back, sounds like the 90's inserts were going for nothing.
