TLA Traders 2022 Official Thread

Time to build some excitement and hear some rumours….

The sell sheet should be with us in the next few weeks. I don’t anticipate massive differences to 21 Traders, maybe some different low end subsets.

I hope starters are plentiful and readily available to the retail market.

I also hope we don’t see the same QC issues with the Legends and Authentic issues we saw last release.

I doubt the predictor process will change much but it would be great if every predictor was redeemable as a full set of 16 or individually for the premiers. This will add value to the chase all year round !

Lastly the Legends, two crackers from what I hear….

1. This player went to change to long studs in a test match vs GBR in the 90’s. When told by the coach how ridiculous the boots looked, he changed back to short studs and continued to slip and slide all game !!

2. Has previously signed with TLA and a Queenslander.

I would love to see a dally m predictor to replace some thing like the foil sigs, similar to the afl Brownlows, I know it definitely won’t happen but would be an awesome and exciting insert

I hope for at least 1 or 2 insert design changes but I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if they just change some of the ratios and leave it at that

If the legends have one more bronco player, I am done. Enough already from the same club, BUT I will make an exception if it is Lockyer. A Great Player.
But Seriously who are they who make the call on who will be the Legend for each release. Love to know how the process works.
I can think of 10 legends who are better than some of the ones we've had previously.
Brett Kenny, Mick Cronin, Ray Price, Steve Ella and I don't even follow Parramatta.
Other Great Legends Terry Lamb, Kevin Hastings, Steve Edge. Slippery Morris. Hughes Brothers, Greg Alexander, Bob McCarthy, Mark Harris, Les Boyd, Benny Elias, ET and so on.
I would really love to know who you would love to see in your Legends Collection and who you would leave out of your current collection. haha.

I don’t think it is Lockyer…

That being said, and as you mentioned, certainly worthy.

There have been a few Broncos so far, only two in club strip, 92-06 was a fair era for them though.

I would love to see Brad Clyde. Until Cam Murray came along I have not seen another lock like him. Ruben Wiki, Stacey Jones are also great options.

Plenty of options. Generally pretty good selections so far with every player either already HOF or being inducted shortly after.

Buderus, Menzies, Civoniceva were all very worthy but perhaps could have waited in lieu of Kenny, Lamb etc.

It doesn't matter who they pick ,with the prices of these cards,I can,t afford them anymore.A Johnny Raper sold on the weekend for $1250.00.That's a lot of money for one card.But I'm with Tony on one point.Who decides who are the legends.

No idea. I assume it is Terry and his staff. I guess there are various considerations, I know that Tommy Raudonikis was due to sign but became too unwell and Arthur Summons took his place.

In recent years they have doubled up by using all of the Induction Class Signatures as Legends. To be fair, Menzies and Tallis were on Legends cards before Glory was released. I would suggest what I mentioned above was contractual.
