Well, it is a #1 and one that depended on correct timing to get as opposed to luck even despite the cost of the card. Plus he's a popular player with a long career ahead of him even if it's in the wrong colours
THese Cards will hold value and increase because they won’t be dumped onto the secondary market. Most collectors who buy will do so for their PC, some might buy extras to trade or value add to their collection.
Select have been doibg the same for the AFL for a few seasons.
I think it is a good concept, something different and adds a bit of excitement week to week in between releases.
Financially it is a good move as it keeps the current release more relevant. Get a mail day, likely grab a few extra packs here and there.
If he got it I would be very surprised, definitely a few before him that deserve it. Paul Gallen has a cracking game today and was a kick in the side the team needed to get going. But I think Tla will go with Johnson since warriors haven’t had a card and he did play well for a first game back just needs to tidy up his defence a bit

Look I agree with you...... no doubt they will want a card from every team at the end of the year so Johnston is probably a good chance along with Gallen (even though the Sharks have already had 2 cards).
Although, I will add that Nathan Brown (according to NRL.com) had over 200 running metres, in addition to making 50 tackles... an impressive effort - given the Eels performances this year.
