I purchased an item off eBay Sunday night from seller point.blank.records who I since discover is an OCT member. I bid last minute on the item and paid instantly. At the time I didn't know they traded on OCT under a different name.
Next day I receive a message from point.blank.records asking if I wanted to cancel the transaction. He then starts going on about a past dispute we had over one of his OCT sale threads, like really carrying on like a child, that I called him names ("a$$hole" and "all the names under the sun"), the latter I deny entirely, the a$$hole bit, well I may have during a heated exchange that went both ways trust me. Long story short, he listed some cards for sale on OCT, no price and with the only descriptive being a fuzzy mobile picture. I asked for more info on condition and price. He stuffs me around with one word answers for a bit, then criticises me for taking more than 24hrs to decide if I wanted to buy (clearly not considering timezones). He then says he has since sold to someone who enquired before me. I didn't have an issue with that, but I did not appreciate how he conducted himself and said he should let people know up front they are not the first to enquire....if it were me, that would be my first message, logically that would save a lot of unnecessary messages not to mention its the polite thing to do. Not stringing people along whilst working with other potential buyers. I said to him I would no longer deal with him again. My reasoning: I found him difficult, sneaky, impersonal and generally very unhelpful.
In my first reply to yesterdays eBay message I politely request he just sends the cards. He isn't happy with that and wants to continue arguing over this historic OCT issue at which point I replied via eBay saying I have more important things to do than argue over eBay messaging. No reply. Next day (today), he officially cancels the transaction, advising eBay he sold to another buyer.
So yes I purchased off him by accident. All the info was in the eBay listing and I had no need to make further enquires. And the high bidder at auction end gets the cards, 100% transparent and no confusion. I paid instantly. End of story right??!! No......in a nutshell he has continued to carry just like he did all those months ago, being total unreasonable and just an overly onerous individual.
I am expecting too much here, that he just complete his side of the eBay transaction and send the cards that I have paid for?
Or do I carry on his petty little grudge, accept his actions & move on?
Its a shame really, we all share the same interest in collecting so should be helpful towards each other.
