inspired by a post on this forum about sending autograph requests through the mail (the post is here), i decided to see how much success i could get.
here's my first one. it came after an exceedingly crappy work week, so all i can say is that i was ELATED.
here's the envelope that it came in, as evidence.
and here's the autograph!
i'd written to Scott Brooks to thank him for a job well done coaching the Thunder this season, and included a card to sign, which he did. He also signed the index card that i'd included in the self-addressed envelope
hey Rob,
check the respective team pages for the address of the team offices or the arenas where they play. then send as player name c/o team address. good luck!

... I'm gonna have to see If It works ! Thanks man ! Congrats on yours ! Really does seem like Scott Brooks would sign and send back. Always seems like a real nice guy.
do some research too, before you send.
i use ★ FanMail.biz: The Celebrity Addresses Database to check whether other people have sent to the same players, and whether they've had any success. Apparently Steve Nash does not do TTM, and some superstars like Kobe and DRose don't either. Blake does not sign non-Panini cards due to his contract with Panini.
i also just google terms like "[player name] ttm autograph" to see if anyone posted any blogs or videos on youtube about whether they were successful. fanmail.biz also has addresses for reference on where to send TTM requests.
sometimes if you know who the player's agent is, you can write to them via their agent's address. always include a self-addressed envelope, with enough US stamps for overseas mail. i am trying out International Reply Coupons (which you can buy from the post office for the receiving party to exchange for stamps) as well to see which gets a better return.
Dirk is apparently a regular with TTM auto. people always seem to get success with him. i'm hoping other players won't be *too* busy this summer, especially with a lockout looming
am chasing a whole bunch of TTM autos at the moment. will post more successes if and when they arrive.
My Scott Brooks request took about three weeks. may be up to two months or even a year for current players to sign (think Panini redemptions )
