Well I thought I would show you my wax pack collection, for those of you who do not know or do not collect wax packs they are old vintage factory sealed wax packets produced before the nice foil like packets of today were produced.
Some packets are very hard to find and very expensive to buy, these types of cards were around when some of us older guys were kids and they way we treated them is shocking.
They range from the 1960's to the 1990's and still have that lovely bit of now stale and sometimes broken stick of gum, I currently have 91 mint packets in my collection but a few of those are doubles (the ones in the boxes at the back).
Anyone else here collect wax packets? I have to look into importing some sports wax packets soon as all mine are Non-Sport.
they're sick, I knew that there were a lot of tv series wax packs but I didn't know that many!!! love the Freddy Krueger, takes u back.
what's your white whale?
The invite was an exact copy of the 1970 topps tall boy design but with my now wife and I on the front. The back had 'our' stats on it and the info on where and when instead of the usual text. Even the cartoon that was on the back of each card that year was changed to one about me. Invites were printed and placed in toploaders. Then they were wrapped up in the wax wrapper and sealed all to scale, same colours etc etc as the original wax product. A mate of mine in the US designed cards for donrus (NFL product) and did all the work for me. We printed them out ourselves, cut them out and did all the other work. They turned out great.
Some family got a traditional invitation as it seems its 'not proper' to have invites as we had Some lucky people got both
