When a brand is as adored and as tenured as Panini America’s Absolute Football is, one year away from the game can seem like an eternity. And so it was last season, when football fans had no Absolute to collect for the first time since 1994. But if absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder, the highly anticipated 2016 Absolute Football should receive a hero’s welcome when it arrives in hobby shops across North America one week from today.
Although 2016 Absolute Football boasts a revised packaging configuration (five cards per pack, three packs per box), the brand tenets that have made Absolute an annual collector favorite remain richly intact, headlined by the return of Tools of the Trade, Rookie Premiere Materials Rookie Cards, Leather & Laces, Absolutely Ink and so much more.
On average, each hobby box of 206 Absolute Football will deliver one Rookie Premiere Materials Autograph, one multi-memorabilia card, two additional autograph cards, one additional memorabilia card, one Legend card, one Rookie Card, one parallel and one die-cut. Each case also will deliver one Glass redemption card (more on those to follow).
Panini America’s Rob Springs and Tim Yoder spent some quality time late last week overseeing packout for the product, which gave us the opportunity to tag along and capture some revealing imagery.
Enjoy.
