They say you can’t judge a book by it’s cover . . . that looks can be deceiving . . . that dynamite comes in small packages. Rarely, however, do they say all of that in reference to the same thing. But such is the case with Panini America’s upcoming 2015-16 Preferred Basketball, a high-end, nothing-but-hits product that features a new, smaller packaging configuration that strays from the look of past Preferred releases.
But make no mistake: The hits coming from this year’s release, which arrives in hobby shops across North America next Wednesday, are every bit as explosive as those you’ve come to expect from one of Panini America’s most popular NBA products. And even if you can’t judge a book by its cover, you absolutely can judge Preferred’s bountiful booklets by theirs.
In the must-see Quality Control Gallery that follows, we offer a front-row seat to just some of the gems that surfaced during last week’s packout process. Every autograph in 2015-16 Preferred Basketball is signed on-card and is numbered to 99 or less. You’ll notice some subtle tweaks to the booklet roster and the triumphant return of the product’s sublime NBA Finals, Vs. and game-dated Stat Line memorabilia booklets.
