They will be a first round exit. You cant win a championship with three players. I remember just before xmas I was roundly howled down on one NBA forum for suggesting they should look at trading Bosh for a quality PG.

Any team with a good PG, Miller, Parker, Rondo, Rose, is going to beat these guys.

i think there is some cause for concern... but as long as they make the playoffs (which they will) they will be fine... the playoffs are an entirely different thing... im not saying they are going to win the championship but i def. dont think you can rule them out until they lose that last game in the playoffs

And your point is? I know he was saying that, but it was WRONG of him to say that. What Miami lacks is interior scoring. There was an article written like yesterday on ESPN saying 50% of Bosh's points are coming off jumpers, which is much higher than last season.

If the Heat are going to succeed Bosh is going to have to be more than simply a bail-out shooter. Another interesting stat is that off pick and rolls where Bosh goes to the basket he averages 1.34 points per play. On jumpers? Only 0.9 per play.

Not winning the championship and being beaten in the first round is a big difference. It's funny how you think they will be a first round exit. Who in the first round is going to knock them out??

Consider this: 13 of their 21 losses were 5 points or less. They were in a position to win 6 of their last 7 losses and had the coin flip gone the other way, this wouldn't even be making headlines.

- Portland game, down 2 points with 3 minutes to go.
- Chicago game, leading by one with 15 seconds to go.
- Orlando game, down by one with 9 seconds to go.
- NY game, down by one with 33 seconds to go.
- Chicago game, tied with 36 seconds to go.
- Boston game, down by one with 12 seconds to go.

Miami blew the lead on a few of those games which shouldn't have gone down to a last possession. Seriously, had the coin flipped the other way, they won't even be any of this talk. Miami has too much talent, but they got to put their heads down, get to work and don't let the media get to them. Whenever they get a tough loss, they seem to vanish mentally and carry this negativity into the next game. These were all winnable games and it isn't time to panic, just to learn to take care of possessions and get defensive stops.

Whoever they play. I dont think whoever face them in the first round will be as concerned as they may have been at the start of the year. Talk would have been "AVOID MIAMI!!!", now not so much. You could place a bet at the beginning of the season "Who will win the NBA title??" Heat - $2.10 OR any other team - -$3.50. Insane the hype over them. I got a mate who's going to collect $350.

But business end of the season, I reckon the Bulls, Celtics, Knicks, Magic probably even Atlanta wouldnt be too scared of facing them. As it stands right now Philly and Pacers are just making up numbers.

I agree that other teams won't be "scared" to face them, but that doesn't mean they will beat them.

You said a first round exit. It's impossible for them to face the Celtics, Bulls or Magic in the first round. So it will be either the Hawks, Magic or 7th seed.

Let's not even talk about the 7th seed because they won't have a shot.

If the season ended now it'd be Miami #3 versus New York #6. That would be a great series. But I don't think it would guarantee a loss for the Heat. The Heat already beat (and lost) to the Knicks in the season before the trade went down.

Since the trade went down they have lost, but they had a 15 point lead in the game that they squandered. I think the series would go to at least 6 games, with Miami losing only if they continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Like Xzibit said, the Heat's losses have been close. The bottom line is, they have been RIGHT THERE at the end of the games. If they can change a few things, which is entirely possible, they could easily be winning those types of games come playoff time.

To write them off now is ridiculous.

Call me Crazy but I would Bench Bosh.

So when Lebron and Wade come off put him on with the bench so the bench can play around him.

Look at the Bulls as an example. Deng stays on and Gibson and Brewer and Kover and Asik come on. They work around him and yet they also score. When D Rose Noah and Boozer are one Deng place more a defensive role.

Miami need a good bench team.

I like your theory. I like it alot. The only problem with that is, if you were to purely only play Bosh as a 6th man and have 4 other players revolve around him, he is only going to get 10 minutes a game unless he is on the floor with Wade and LeBron - thats an awesome tactic for a video game, not quite so practical in real life.

Of course, if they play Bosh off the bench, but bring him on 8 minutes into the first quarter with LeBron and Wade, allow him to get warm, then when they come off towards the middle of the second, leave Bosh on and let him do damage like he did in Toronto. When LeWade are ready to come back on, bring Bosh off, sit him for 8 minutes then follow the same pattern for the second half of the game. It could very well work.

Thats all well and good to win games, but I dont think its good enough to win a series against the likes of the Bulls, Celtics or Magic.... let alone, if by some miracle they make it that far, against Lakers/Spurs.

i tend to disagree i dont think philly are just making up the numbers i think a few teams would be scared of philly come play off time just think back a few seasons when we they gave boston a scare ,dont like talking them up and im not i simply just love philly and the way we are travelling at the moment

I just gotta say I LOVE how the Heat are travelling.......used to like them until LJ took 2 hours to tell the world where he was moving to!

Now I hope they never win a Championship while he is there!

I dont think its ridiculous. Theyre not really showing elements of a championship team, theyre not even really showing elements of a playoff winning team. Sure they have the talent in two and a half guys, but they have a scrubtastic second unit that has proved over and over and over again that they cant get it done against quality sides.

They may well be RIGHT THERE at the end of games, but they arent winning them. And what if they CANT get it together?? Its entirely possible that they wont get it happening and nothing will change.

I never said I GUARANTEE a first round loss. I said I can see a first round loss, as it stands Knicks or Hawks, in my opinion, would beat them. The Heat's next five or six games will say alot about where they finish post season, they have a freaking tough run.

Kobe will smell blood today and pounce, reckon Lakers by 10+. And he has Xmas day to make up for.

Heck of a game v Lakers today. Kobe as usual unreal with the clutch 3 point shooting and then it unraveled for the Lakers down the stretch. Big win by Miami, BIG win. And this was another one which was going down the wire and a coin flip situation, a missed shot and it would have turned out differently with Miami extending their loss streak.

they cant seem to beat anyone in the east but at least if they meet the lakers in the finals they have a good chance haha...

i think this game proves that they still are a contender although they have struggled... once the playoffs start its a whole new game and people can criticize losses to the celtics, bulls, knicks whoever but then you have to praise them for beating the defending champion a couple times

i think it really shows that they are still going to be a really good contender and it would be ignorant to write them off
