Time to talk Draft............

Would like to see us pick up another big man, either center or PF, preferably someone that can score inside.

Our current backup big men, only real serviceable one is Collison. Nazr Mohammed is on his way out and has terrible hands and Cole Aldrich can't really keep up with our transition game; only other thing I wouldn't mind is a dead-eye shooter, Cook can be a little inconsistent and doesn't really offer much else.

Some guys I like the look of..

Big Men:

Royce White

Technically a SF, but I'm sure he can play PF being 6'8" / 260.

He probably won't drop that low, but hope he does as I really like his game. Reminds me a little of Lebron in that the way he can move for a guy his size.

Seems to have a great handle, moves like a cat, great passer, good inside moves although can be a defensive liability apparently but seems to have defensive hussle.

Really high on this guy..

Bad thing is I hear the Celtics are gunning for him, stay away C's!!

Arnett Moultrie

6'11" / 233

Average defender, good post moves, has an outside shot and can hit fadeaways.

Festus Ezeli

6'11" / 260

Great shot blocker and good defensive player, has post moves but lacks a jump shot. A lot of mocks have him going in the second round.

Fab Melo

7'0" / 255

Defensive center with big body, good blocker, can shoot from 15 feet but lacks a post game and has an average motor.

Wings

John Jenkins

6'4" / 212

Dead eye shooter, no problems hitting shots spotting up, coming off screens or off the dribble; however he may struggle in the NBA to create his own shots as he is not overly quick or explosive.

Quincy Miller

6'10" / 219

Big time HS player who has struggled a bit since coming back from an ACL injury. Think KD could help him a lot as he is very similar in stature and has the same lanky frame. Differences being is miller doesn't have the same shooting stroke or athletic ability KD does, but does have a better post game.

First of all Congrats on a Great Season and Losing in the Finals! :p

As For Drafting-

Royce White seems to be a very good Player!

2 Problems Though
- He has an anxiety disorder and struggles with flying on planes
- He also had a problem in his previous uni because of stealing and something else

How about Draymond Green?

Great Player!

Shush...... this is the 2012-13 thread, we haven't even played a game yet. :p

As for Royce, yeah I'm aware of his issues, that's the only reason he would drop this low. He's apparently a lottery talent though and he has impressed with his interviews, so we'll see.

Like the look of Draymond, however he's a bit of a tweener haha

worst news ever.

I was hoping Bulls could tempt him to come of the bench and play for them as a starter. harden, rose, deng, noah and maybe gibson over boozer.

Just read the info on White on that page and the more I read the more he sounds like Lebron lol.. I mean....

"In his only season at Iowa State, White became the only player in the nation to lead his team in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks."

Lebron much!? lol

Not saying he is gonna be as talented as Lebron, but he looks and plays very very similar.

I'd be PUMPED if we got him, probably prefer him over Sully haha........ but I fear some other smart team will grab him before us :(

I think the Celtics really want White and might have made a promise to him

Yeh he does sound Like LeBron lol

His roughly the Same height and Body Weight

Just needs to be 5% Body Fat though not what his % is now

will be great if they can get the extension with Harden sounds positive, hoping the can keep Ibaka
White would be a great addition

Wow wow wow....... would have never thought Perry Jones would have dropped THAT far even after hearing about his knee, may have not gotten White, but Jones was a pretty nice and unexpected consolation prize!! Woot woot!! :kick::kick::kick:

Sam Amick
  • First the Perry Jones "gamble," now Hasheem Thabeet? Source says Oklahoma City is the most likely landing spot for the 7-3 center who was taken No. 2 by Memphis in 2009 and will be playing for his fourth team (assuming he doesn't sign with Portland, Houston or the Griz).
Hmmmmm...... not exactly what I had in mind when I said we needed another big man lol; although his ability to block shots bolds well with Ibaka; imagine the two of them on the floor at once haha

Brooks Supports Olajuwon Teaching Ibaka

July 11, 2012

Serge Ibaka might soon have a new Hall of Fame coach.
Hakeem Olajuwon has reached out to Thunder coach Scott Brooks to determine if and perhaps when he might be able to work with Ibaka on his offensive game. Olajuwon’s representatives contacted Brooks, who teamed with the former Rockets star, via text on Tuesday.
Olajuwon originally expressed his interest in working with Ibaka to Fox Sports last month, saying the Thunder’s runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year “needs it.”
Brooks on Tuesday told The Oklahoman that he loves the idea.
“I played with Hakeem for three years,” Brooks said of his stint with Olajuwon and the Rockets from 1992-95. “He’s one of the best to ever play the game. Anytime you can get players that played at a high level that can share their insight, you have to take advantage of it.”
