The Official 2012-13 EPL Thread

/\/\ i think youre giving carroll to much credit. i dont think hes gonna do aswell as you might think.
rodgers said it best when he stated you cant have a $35mill player as your 3rd option.
yes, you shouldve picked up another striker, but you couldnt keep carroll on the bench, and he wasnt going to break into the first XI.
sterling can play up front. and i rate him more than the ponytail. adam morgan seems to be in rodgers plans aswell.
like you said, you cant deny the effort from the end of last season, but carroll was always a hard worker. never thought otherwise. but that dont mean hes a good player.

Don't Get Me wrong yes Carroll isn't the Greatest Player and Not Worth 35 Million but I wouldn't Want Someone like Sterling or Morgan have to be force into that position incase of an Injury. I'd rather what Rodgers does now by Rotating all the Young Guys so they get chances and Don't get to fatigue

/\/\ thats what he is doing? slowly easing in morgan this year (probably), and sterling last year, so if/when theres an injury, they wont be playing their first top flight game. and since theyll only be used as subs/cover, im sure they can do just as well as carroll did in that role (4 goals in 35 epl games).
im just bummed hes ended up at upton park.

I was reading somewhere but apparently the Loan Market is still Open?

But isn't it closed with the Transfer Market?

/\/\ i think those stats say it all. he wins headers, but isnt that good at scoring. as a striker, you want someone who can score. his best season tally in the top flight is 11 goals, which just isnt enough.
he won lots of headers yesterday again, and he always puts in 100% effort, but really, he had very little to do with any of the goals we scored last night.
youd think a target like that would be able to head it down for numerous assists a season aswell, but no.
lots of scousers applauding his performance vs fulham, but if thats all you want out of your strikers, no wonder you finished 6th last season...

Arsenal: Mannone, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Cazorla, Arteta, Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud, Podolski.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Allen, Sahin, Gerrard, Sterling, Borini, Suarez.

two good looking squads. first time in a while i like the look of liverpool (on paper). gunners just missing koscielny (hes on the bench but).
