Re: Ray back with Celtics

Sounds like a lot but he quite likely could have made more elsewhere. Wade and Lebron both have never had a knock down 3 pt shooter like Ray.

Re: Ray back with Celtics

Less than Pierce money and probably the best option, so his contract now runs out same time as KG's, then they'll have to rebuild massively!

Re: Ray back with Celtics

Haven't seen an official report on that but interesting - I didn't know the Celtics were going to throw so much money at him. $10 million per year!

yeh i reckon thats far too much to be honest... prob $5-7M would have been more appropriate for a shooting guard in his mid 30's even a future hall of famer

I can see what u mean but if un look at the overall market - bigs getting signed for ridiculous amounts (Milicic, Gooden etc) then Allen's deal isn't that bad.

By the way Jermaine O'Neal to the C's for $12 mill for 2 years. Decent deal. he stunk vs Perk in the playoffs last year but most did. He's a good signing as backup while Perk's out.

excellent pickup by the nets with outlaw i reckon... he had too much talent around him to fully prosper in portland with roy and lamarcus particularly being the focal points... outlaw can shoot it from deep and attacks the basket hard... good value @ around $7M a season me thinks... nets now have lee, harris, lopez, rookie derrick favors and now outlaw... good young team... they now need some vets and a marquee signing to get them moving in the right direction quicker

great news for blazers now is that nicolas batum is gonna get some serious minutes to show what he can do with outlaw and webster gone... batum is a guy that has major upside and is incredibly young still - i think 20-21yrs old? really looking forward to seeing him develop, very exciting player

jermaine o'neal for $6M a season is also excellent value... he's obviously trying to hook on with a championship contender to win that elusive title... hes made plenty of $$$ along the way... while he will back up perk he will also give kg some rest as well as he can play the 4 or 5... problem for celts now is can they all stay healthy at this advanced age?

haywood staying in dallas also makes great sense for the mavs and for brendan himself... hes a solid big man who rebounds well and can block shots, they would have hated potentially losing damp and haywood both in one offseason... he also presents reasonable value at $7-8M per season considering what he brings to the table for a big man

all in all, today seems to have been a day where everyone had their logical hats on rather than their emotional or irrational hats on when it came to dishing out contracts... some of the contracts given out this off season so far, have been utterly ludicrous

anyone heard anything bout Eddie House? i cant find any info on where he might possibly be next season

Team USA Bronze team 2.0???

he just conceded that he is not capable of carrying a team on his own to a championship, like Kobe, like Jordan, like Magic, like Wilt, he just separated himself from that list

C'mon, thats a bit harsh, Kobe had stars in Shaq at his peak, Gasol one of the best centres going around, and a supporting cast of Odom & Artest both who have been the sole stars for their former clubs.

MJ had Pippen, prob one of the greatest forwards I have seen play, definately another superstar beside him.

Magic had Kareem, 'nuff said.

Chamberlain was just a beast.

Lebron had a Shaq that should have retired years ago, Jamison who?!?

Going to Heat, Wade is the other superstar, Bosh has yet to cememnt himself in that category, he's done nothing really. Yes they are 2 of the best 3 in the league in my opinion, but how is it any different to other teams that have bought championships? No one says anything when the Celts and Lakers just get stronger every year.

Too many haters out there.

^^^^ you know that Jordan would not have packed up and left. He would of wanted to beat wades ass everytime they played... please.. your saying Odom, gasol, artest > Lebron, Bosh?? I say Lebron because this is Wades team!!. We'll see how it plays out

2 on 3 Odom, Gasol, Artest would prob beat Lebron & Bosh.

Its definately Wades team, i agree, but just sick of all the hating going on. Think about how hard this decision would have been, knowing that he so desperately wants a championship ring. Cleveland promised so much, but couldn't get good enough players around him, and he waited for 7 years! His faith in Celveland management was prob shot and was prob convinced that he didn't have a chance at winning a ring with the Cavs. Yes he had other options, would've been awesome to see him run down the court alongside Rose or tossing up the alley to Amare, but his "friends" asked him to play, he made this decision knowing all the fallback that was going to come down on him. Most people jump on a player because they wanted more money, he just wanted a ring, but he's still the bad guy.

And yes Jordan didn't leave, he is the greatest to ever play, Lebron is so far off that mark and so much younger than jordan was. Why would jordan leave when he had everything he needed in Chicago. Lebron had "love" in cleveland, that's not going to win you a ring.

Are you seriously deluded??? I think we all know how Kobe went on his own...... struggled to make the playoffs & when his team did, couldn't get past the first round.
