After being a shift worker at our local casino for the last few years ive been getting really cheezed with shiftwork....
Top that of with a coworker grabbing me in a headlock and crushing my windpipe and ive had enough.
I quit on the spot last night but they talked me into taking a few weeks leave to have a think about it.
Now im back looking for work and no idea what the hell im going to do.
Not prepared to go back into my trade..damn hot/dusty work conditions.
However at 47 its a bit late to be training for something else..

Well that end my rant.....:(

still a very rough market out there atm, here all the stories at work (C'link)

hope you can find yourself something decent

what happened to the coworker....anything

What the hell happened there with the headlock incident mate? That's ridiculous something like that went on at the workplace...

Thanks gents...the incident last night really wasnt that big a deal ...it was more the 1 thing that took me over my limit..
I had words with him later afterwards and as far as im concerned the incident is finished.
Like i said its more about the shift work and not being able to see family & freinds..ide like to be part of the human race again..:D

Good luck with whatever new direction you take Steve, there's no use staying somewhere you don't enjoy working.
Hope something comes up soon mate ;)

very sad to hear steve. but you have the right attitude to go elsewhere when work begins to get in the way of life (sometimes we have little choice, but this one sounds bad)

good luck with your job search mate

Just got off the phone with Steve and we decided he should look for a good paying job as a professional box buster! :D

On a serious note Steve, hope it all works out for ya mate!

You could always learn how to grade cards Steve and get a job cruisin the country grading cards at card shows + busting a few boxes along the way.Good luck with the job hunt mate hope it all works out.

goodluck nothing worse than doing a job you hate, id love to have a business like chris from youtube rarther than the b.s im doing for work now.

Mate that sucks to hear!! Ive done my fair share of shift work and couldn't stand/handle it, espically with a young family! I think I'll be in the process of looking for a new job in the coming months, givingmy boss some time to get his seperation sorted and if I don't get what I want I'll be walking to find something that doesnt take up 54hours a week and pays like a 18year old at maccas!
