Like a few other peeps on here I had redeemed some of the Exquisite triple rookie autos, and one came in recently. I opened the package to find this

Wasn't happy to see the Thompson auto smudged. Maybe I'm just sookin but I would think a single redemption should not be sent out in this way. What do you guys think about it? Interested to hear any comments from peeps about what I should so, if anything.

Also got some other nice cards in recently

These are for my set chase......which I'm pretty close to completing

Last big one I need for the set is OJ (have the Westbrook incomming).

I've wanted to pick this next card up for a long time, glad I finally did! This guy is a stud

Now some other nice ones I picked up lately

I've owned a few lettermans and I personally think this is the nicest so far.....and it's #'d 1/1!

Now for some key pickups in my main collection. These are nothing big to others, but huge for me

#'d to 100.....had trouble finding this one

Been trying to get this card for 3 YEARS!!! It completes all the parallels of Press Pass......really stoked.

NEVER seen a red ink Bass auto, so I was so stoked when I got this. It's so hard to find cards I need now (as most are 1/1's), when I get 3 it's huge!

Thanks for checking my mailday out guys

awesome superstar autos, the press pass look fabulous (great clean and crisp design) and yeh ud should definitely not send out smudged autos for redemption, thats bullcrap... id send it back to them or take photo of and email to them and see if theyll replace it

Nice cards! But on the smudging UD only sends out the actual cards so unless you want stickers you have to blame the player!

Mate I would be pissed with that Exquisite triple rookie auto being smudged like that. I bet they wouldn't have sent that to somone in the States. Some nice pick ups though.

Woweeee, great mailday man!

Some beauties there :)

On the smudged auto, yeah, I would be bummed if I got that. Not sure what can be done, as I have player smudged auto's too. I guess, they feel it's "o.k"?

Pop them an e-mail, and see what they say.

Thanks for all the comments guys!!! I just find the fact that UD still sends it out regardless if it was their fault or the players, really frustrating. I bought this redemption, so it makes it even worse. I think regardless whose fault it is, it's UD name on the product and that's who the redemption is through, so ultimately it's their responsibility to ensure quality. Still a nice card though, and the smudge isn't the worst I've seen.

Nice nice and nice :)

On the smudge, I have seen a few Thompson's like that I think. It happens, not UDs fault that the player is careless with the signing and touches it after. And it wouldn't suprise me if these guys have a certain number of autos they are allowed to sign, so why continue feeding them more cards and wasting the number of autos they have available as well as costing them more for re-making cards?

lol......so you actually have clients to sell to?? You're talking about a product that costs hundreds of $$$ to buy. If they can't get that right, not really giving the consumer much faith. Might save them money in the short term.....but unhappy customers in the long run will cost a lot more.

You could also say that all the cards they send should be in absolutely perfect, gem mint condition...but they clearly are not. If it was a single player auto, then perhaps you have a point, but with a triple Exquisite, I'm not sure what you'd have them do. Do you want them to do a print of that card again, serial number it again with that number, send it out to all three players to have them sign it again? That is wholly impractical.

No I don't expect that. I would think either replace it with the same card (a different #) if not all of them had been redeemed, or replace it with something else. I realize there are some things that are out of their control and I wouldn't be unreasonable. UD knows that a lot of their redemption's are sold via ebay and the like, so they need to take this into consideration.

Are you guys who are siding with UD saying if this card was listed on Ebay you would be fine paying the going rate they normally sell, for an obviously inferior card? We all know the answer to that. I paid for a triple auto that was in normal condition and didn't receive it. Even a bonus card or something as a way to say sorry for the hassle. Considering that around 60% of the cards I have ever redeemed with UD have been either damaged or replaced with complete garbage, you can understand where I'm coming from. The 40% were cards they actually honored, not replaced.

If they send you a different numbered card, my question is what do they do with that card? They can't just take it out of circulation.

That is the gamble of buying a redemption. You didn't pay for a triple auto in normal condition at all. You paid for a code which would entitle you to an Exquisite Triple auto, which is what you got. When you buy a redemption, you have no prior knowledge of the cards condition at all. I'm not saying they are justified to send whatever crap they want, but a smudged auto on a triple is a difficult one to rectify.

Mate with that kind of mentality, it's no wonder the hobby is in the condition it is. So buying a redemption is a lucky dip now? Sure it is as far as whether the card will be made or not, we all know that and buy with that in mind. But now we have to expect that the card may be bent, smudged or just in shabby condition?

You ask what they are supposed to do with that card now....like it is my problem. Even if that is an issue, nothing a bonus card can't fix. Why can't they send an additional card to compensate for an inferior product? Whether you think it's their fault or not, it's the nature of the business for them. It's their name on the product, they make the profits from it, so they have to assume the responsibility for things that go wrong. Not asking to move heaven and earth, I just think if they are going to send out a card that has an OBVIOUS major flaw, they should do WHATEVER THEY CAN to rectify the situation.
