The future of cricket - what would you do?

Hi all!

Almost every newspaper article you read these days is in one way or another negative in regards the direction that cricket will take in the future, and the standard of teams that are playing today.

If you were the sole decision-maker at the ICC, what changes would you make to cricket to ensure it remains popular and exciting and meaningful?

I have a few random ideas:

1. Limit any ODI head-to-head series (eg Aus v India) to a MAXIMUM of 5 matches. The whole idea of a 7 match series is pointless and boring.

2. Remove the "First innings points" from domestic games - to encourage attacking captaincy and "result" cricket.

3. Do away with tri-series ODI's all together. There is always a team that drags the chain and finishes a distant 3rd.

4. Promote test cricket positively through media releases and ensure that the various country's governing bodies do likewise.

Well I'm from the old school thinking of cricket love test matches more than anything. Bring it back to 5 test matches a season Vs. the one side I.E. west indies like the good old days. Have a triangular ONe day series not this crap of playing one dayers against the one side. Don't have any 20/20 its a stupid stupid idea who would want to pay to watch 40 overs of cricket what a waste of money. People pay money to watch someone score 60 runs, wow they hit 5 6's that not entertaining. There going to kill test cricket with this 20 20 **** there's nothin better than watching a bowler blow at the same batsman for 5 or 6 straight over working and trying to get him out in 20/20 and idiot can get a wicket, with all the changes and different types of cricket I have lost interest fully.

Just felt like a rant on this subject.
