Hi all!
Almost every newspaper article you read these days is in one way or another negative in regards the direction that cricket will take in the future, and the standard of teams that are playing today.
If you were the sole decision-maker at the ICC, what changes would you make to cricket to ensure it remains popular and exciting and meaningful?
I have a few random ideas:
1. Limit any ODI head-to-head series (eg Aus v India) to a MAXIMUM of 5 matches. The whole idea of a 7 match series is pointless and boring.
2. Remove the "First innings points" from domestic games - to encourage attacking captaincy and "result" cricket.
3. Do away with tri-series ODI's all together. There is always a team that drags the chain and finishes a distant 3rd.
4. Promote test cricket positively through media releases and ensure that the various country's governing bodies do likewise.
