Saw a post yesterday that really sums it up for me:
One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong!
Pretty much sums up all governments, health officials, media during that whole Covid time...even to this day.
Remember when you could only have 10 people at a funeral or had to say goodbye to people in hospitals over zoom?
Or when you could take your mask off to eat sitting down but if you stood up the face nappy had to be put back on?
Or when you got locked in your houses for months on end to save Grandma?
Or you couldn't go 5kms outside your suburb while politicians were flying interstate to collect awards for the brave work they had done during the crisis?
