Man attyball had some crackers! There used to be a Celtic collector that used to buy up all the highend rookies that was listed! He had an amazing collection!
There's certainly a lot of coin been thrown into those collections, but in all honesty, I'd much prefer a collection say like Pat's Larry Johnson collection (just 1 example), or say a collection where someone has spent years chasing down specific cards, you know, where they've actually put their heart and soul into collecting something.
These collections above where people have simply thrown money at cards just because they can, I can't appreciate them. I mean 70x Logomen Cards??? You know they've just thrown the coin out and barely cared for it, other than saying they have it. You could say that they've got devotion to collect, but when majority of all these cards are post 2000, they've hardly put the time into collecting.
I may be a hater, but I can't appreciate collections like these. The cards themselves are nice, some f***in unreal cards in those collections actually, but it's not my cuppa tea.
I do appreciate you sharing the links though, it is nice to look at some of these cards, some that may never re-surface again, but I can't call them "the best".
I somewhat agree there is no passion as it is evident in the way the cards are protected ($4000 plus cards in those hard ultra pro sleeves and not in hard cases like one touch magnetics).
kimmy is durian82 on ebay, his collection is real trust me, i despise him, not just cos he has a heap of pippens that i need, not just because i watched him spend 27,000 (yes 27 grand) in one week but because you cant appreciate those type of cards, he only brought them cos he could. dislike to kimmy!
Im the same, but I collect within my means and I collect cards that wont send me broke. Sure like Natstuner who sold his business for millions of dollars, he can afford it and good luck to him. But I am finding it more and more crazy at the money he has spent.
I have to say Kimmy has the quantity, masterpiece has the quality.
yah have to agree that the masterpiececollection guys spend their money more "wisely" (felt strange typing that). but if you take say the top 50 cards of each collection, kimmy would still win - he has quantity and quality. both are nuts

Just so absolutely amazing, some of those cards are sooo rare it's just unbelievable. Still though there's nothing like putting in the hard work and time in completing your own set. Or getting to a goal you work hard for, the satisfaction from that far out weighs having big $$$ to throw at any card you want, for me anyway.
