Great news with Michael Clarke looking like a chance to play in a world cup warm up match after not only taking the field in Brisbane but bowling unfortunately he only made 34 with the bat but it is looking ever more likely that Clarke will feature throughout the world cup.

Crikey, Australia have hammered 371 in the warm up game against India at Adelaide. The highlights of the innings were centuries to Warner (104 off 83 balls, 14 x 4, 2 x 6) and the mercurial Maxwell (122 retired off 57 balls, 11 x 4, 8 x 6).

In domestic news, Chris Lynn has reached the equal-sixth highest score by a Queensland batsman in Sheffield Shield cricket history - currently on 250*....he has scored 224 of those today!

I stand somewhat corrected - it is the equal-6th highest FIRST CLASS score by a Queensland batsman. Lynn has already hit ten sixes in his innings.

In other news, Ryan Harris made 125 in a club match yesterday and the evergreen George Bradley Hogg took 8/77 in a club match also!

Hi all!

Thought I'd give this thread a bit of a kick along as of course the Aussies are about to commence their tour of the West Indies.

The schedule is:

WICB President's X1 vs Australia - Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua - 27-29 May
West Indies vs Australia - 1st Test - Windsor Park, Dominica - 3-7 June
West Indies vs Australia - 2nd Test - Sabina Park, Jamaica - 11-15 June

The Australian squad: M. Clarke (c), F. Ahmed, B. Haddin, J. Hazlewood, M. Johnson, N. Lyon, M. Marsh, S. Marsh, P. Nevill, C. Rogers, P. Siddle, S. Smith (vc), M. Starc, A. Voges, D. Warner, S. Watson.

If the wickets are like the ones used in the West Indies v England series it might be a bit of a hard slog bowling-wise, although countering that is the inexperience and inconsistency of the West Indies batting. I hope young Mitchell Marsh gets another go, I think his potential at No. 6 is untapped. Looking ahead, Marsh vs Stokes in England could be a thrilling match up!!

What are your thoughts on the West Indies series? The timeslot is bloody awful, that's the only thing

Its on Fox.

The England V West Indies coverage STARTED at 11.30pm EDST so middle of the night here & a long haul if you are keen to watch it.

Ashes will be much better time slot as will be in prime time going through & wrapping up around 12.30 from memory.

Looking forward to both. Looks like low slow wicket for the first test, may see the return of dual spinners in the Aussie side.

Great to see some chatter about cricket again, especially for the WI tour. Hopefully the Windies can put up a fight like they did in the final test against England. On a sad note for WI cricket, Shiv Chanderpaul has been dropped from the team, he's batting form recently was poor and it seems there will be no way back being 40 years old? He's served WI cricket very well and probably deserved another test series, a very unorthodox batsmen.

Being a big fan of Peter Siddle who carried the bowling attack after the retirement of the big guns and also the injuries to the young ones and also a handy bat like most of our bowlers,I would like to see him get the 8 wickets to get to 200 wickets and I think over 1000 runs by memory which is pretty special

Sidds was in terrific form during his short stint at Lancashire. 204 runs at 34.00 and 18 wickets at 20.56. He would be a deserving member of the 200 club I reckon.

In the dark, tough years between 2008-2013, Siddle carried Australia on his back like Clarke.

I am a bit OCD when it comes to round numbers and milestones. 200 Club for Siddle is a must!!!

Chanderpaul would be devistated - if this is to be the end, he will finish just 86 runs short of Brian Lara's record as the highest run scorer for the West Indies in Test Cricket.

Chanderpaul is currently 7th overall in all tests - A fine achievement in itself.

I have spoken to Shiv's manager and he is very upset in how the wicb treated him. He also stated that "this is why the Windies became bad"

I didn't want to mention it before but his dropping is very political. Unfortunately, its been like this for the past 2 decades, Clive needs to have a good hard look at himself.

Steven Smith will bat at No. 3 in the first Test, Shaun Marsh will open in place of Chris Rogers, who was concussed at training on Sunday. Cricinfo are reporting that either Adam Voges or Fawad Ahmed will debut, according to pitch conditions.

I'll have to climb out of the cot at sparrows' to catch any of it, a few 5am wake-up calls might be in order!!
