i have just got back from a holiday in melbourne.and boy am i glad to be back in the bush.while in melbourne we went to the melbourne museum and got to see the real ashes trophy.you are not suppose to take photos of it.they had a security guard with it at all times.and if they saw you with a camera they would stand in front of it so you could not take a photo.so after about 5 times trying i used my 2 year old son as cover and got this photo.i also took a picture of a fake ashes trophy.so for the people who could not get to see it heres the photo.i hope you all enjoy it.the fake is on the left.
thanks for looking tony :D

thats pretty cool, amazing to find out they are about 4 inches/10cm tall, especially with all the mystique around them, i was expecting a big trophy when i first saw them

They are going back to England as they are property of the MCC because they were never intended to be a trophy. They were private property and left to the MCC in the will of the family that owned them.

i dont see the point in winning a trophy that you cant keep.
I think they should burn stumps from every ashes (oldest till the current and make a new trophy)
Nice pics though.

i thought they played for the trophy because thats what they hold in all the pics, still very disappointing.
