Have to say we are been out played again very dissapointing... Also P.Hughes shouldn't have been picked for Australia his form certainly doesn't warrant it, Michael Clarke is very lucky to be playing for Australia, its about time he makes some runs especially when needed....
P.S sorry Walshy but your man is not up to it, his unorthodox batting will not work against top quality bowling...

Hughes looked a man out of form today....his footwork was non-existent and he was squaring up to both bowlers when being forced on the back foot (which at the WACA and his lack of height was almost every ball).

They may as well open with Hussey and Haddin.....at least it might save the top order all coming in in the first hour.

Whilst the current selection panel presides over the team, you won't hear me criticise any Australian cricketer.

The XI that take the field are being undermined frrom above, we can only hope that soon that will change.

The way some batsmen are getting out perhaps the selectors should draft themselves in.

While Hughes was out playing the wrong shot, leaving a gap between bat and pad that wouldn't have been there had he been playing straight, Clarke was out playing a completely unnecessary shot; you could have an fitted an elephant in the gap between his body and his bat. Just an airy fairy shot that is becoming his trademark unfortnately.

That said, Ponting's shot wasn't too great either, and it was up to Haddin, Hussey and Johnson to get some runs. They did alright but I don't think a sub 300 total is good enough on this wicket, although you can't really judge until both teams have batted.

PS. RE Hughes, he must be one ****ed up kid RE what it takes to be selected; He dominates in RSA but gets dropped because he fails twice in in 09 Ashes and then now he gets selected when he's in terrible form.

Johnson take a bow.. that will shut up Andrew Hilditch! Get rid of the clown and re-select the selectors i say!
Clarke is off to a good start, hopefully he can keep going and makes some over-due runs.. It's going to be a short test!

maybe not......

Bye Bye Ponting! Hello Watson!

Hughes... Why was he even selected..? Piss Poor form in state cricket and suddenly he's in calculations for the ASHS!?!?!? Shows where the selectors are at! If they were serious about winning the 3rd test, surely they would have looked at informopeners, such as Klinger.....

Australian Cricket is just a big mess at the moment in every way from the top to the bottom!

another Hussey Watson partnership coming up here i'd say.. If Australia bat until Day 4 they will make a huge lead and will win the test but thats if they last the last session today!! I'm confident of a big partnership tomorrow..

Johnson, Harris, Hussey and Watson take a bow.
Only 5 more wickets until it is 1-1 with boxing day and sydney to go

Great turn around, sets the series up nicely, looks like it will be the same 12 for the boxing day test, unless Ponting is injured, time for Hughes & Clarke to step up to prove they're are worthy of their place, time will tell.....

What a difference a week makes. I've been bagging Johnson but his time in the nets seem to have got him right again. Come on Boxing day.

It's not Australia vs England. It's Hussey vs England.

Hussey is the first player to make 5 consecutive 50s in an Ashes series.

his last innings last ashes was a century too, so it's 6 innings in a row which is an ashes record. What a bloody legend.
