David Gibbons, 14, was changing classes in his Crosby high school when he was attacked by another student playing a game called "sack tapping".

"It's just gotten way out of control," said Dr Scott Wheeler, a urologist in Brainerd, Minnesota who says he performs three to four surgeries a year on boys with ruptured testicles and other complications as a result of "sack tapping".

Reminds me of a story a guy that i used to work with told me. When he was in the army one of the guys had just come out of the showers and was drying himself with a leg up on a bench. Another guy had a towel and went to flick him on the butt, missed and got his sack. They guy had to lay in a bed for 3 days with his sack floating in a bucket of water to ease the pain because of how swollen they got.

That's pretty annoying. It happens in schools all over the place, here especially. I finished High School last year and it was a regular occurrence at lunch and recess. Luckily we didn't hit that hard. Just a tap. The article says this kid was "punched' in the groin..

Its all fun and games as a kid but you never think of the repercussions of things like this. I could only imagine the pain of a ruptured nut, sh!t it hurts enough with a little accidental tap in the shower

I remember one school I went to while my parents traveled from one mining town to another, it was dead legs at the time...

A group of the local boys would single people out and aim for the space in between the calf muscles ! one boy was so badly injured by it that it tore his muscle and the shock caused him to vomit everywhere and then ended up at the hospital.

When they decided to try and single me out, I was having none of it ! I warned them that there will be consequences if they come near me... Bullies are usually quite (thick) dumb and of course when the break came.... so too did the chase to give me a dead leg....little did they know that I was ready for them !!!

A strategically placed metal pole near the industrial arts workshop soon had them running the other way.... D heads all need a good flogging from time to time ! they tend to remember it more if it is at the hands of the one they try to bully

To be Honest, I have been both Lucky and unlucky with bullies in my life

One time I got bailed up by the local bully and 3 mates because I stood up to a friend of his, it cost me a fractured face (the bone between the eye and nose) and nerve damage on that side lucky for me it was temporary

Sadly though, my best mate at the time did not help me at all .... needless to say that he is no longer considered a friend.... real mates will always be willing to help out no matter what the odds are...

happened to me back when i was younger! was in hospitality and was in the kitchen when one of the "dickheads" flicked me in the nuts with a large towel, i dropped to me knees and was hyperventalting, never felt so much pain, went to the doctors and was put on ice for a few days and couldnt walk properly for nearly a week, took weeks for me black sack to go back to normal, suffice to say i got the guy back....by shagging his girfriend once i had recouperated....revenge was very sweet...
