We’re almost two weeks removed from Santa Claus coming to town and yet, for many collectors, Football Card Christmas arrives tomorrow with the release of Panini America’s 2014 Contenders Football in hobby shops across North America. The landmark release — bolstered by its landmark Rookie Ticket Autographs — returns as football’s home of the autographed Rookie Card for the 17th consecutive season boasting one of the deepest, most impressive rookies classes in recent NFL history.
Of course, it wouldn’t really be a Contenders release if there weren’t a savory supply of variations and short prints, so 2014 Contenders Football packs plenty of those, too. But right now, we’re all about previewing the contents — pack by pack — of the two boxes we just opened.
The hobby version of 2014 Contenders Football is supposed to deliver five autographs per box, but most are delivering more than that. The product also features a new numbering configuration on the popular Championship Tickets parallels, and the return Cracked Ice parallels and rare Golden Ticket 1/1s. For the first time ever, Panini America also has added Silver Tickets numbered to only two.
We’ll have more on all of those things in the coming days. But today, enjoy our Teaser Gallery that takes you pack-by-pack through two boxes of 2014 Contenders Football.
