Was having an interesting discussion with Aussielaker last night about the numbers of cards that are needed for super collector status on a different forum, for NFL it was 5000 different cards with varying percentages etc... which got me to thinking, that Basketball numbers are harder to match up, because you have so many more baseball, nfl and hockey players and generally more cards are made because of that.
So on pure numbers alone.... do you all reckon that say a 3k - 4k strong NBA collection has more legs than a 5k - 6k collection from the other major US sports? I definitely think that an NBA collection of 3k beats any other team collection of 3k if its not NBA (on a pure numbers alone thing).
Thoughts?
PS Put this in general cos it crosses a few sports
For NBA I'd say 4000-5000 (different cards) would be super collector status. I reckon 25-30% of the total cards. I know there are around 15,000 Nuggets cards if I 30% of those I'd be pretty proud of myself.
