Superstars & Legends - Authenticity?

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about Superstars & Legends and the way the go about getting there autographs?

Reason i ask is there is an item im looking to purchase (2nd hand not from the store). I have contacted the store it was purchased from (WA Store) and they have confirmed that is was one of there items. Has Superstars and Legends COA.

But i have some questions regarding authenticity. Its a photo signed by the star wars cast but Harrison Fords signature doesn't quite look right. The F on ford has been signed a different way.

I have looked at examples of his autographs and can only find a handful that are signed the same way. 99% of his signatures he signs the F are all the same way.

So am curious on how Superstars get there autographs.
 
I am in WA and have an extensive Manchester United collection and whilst I am not an official authenticator, I would not touch anything Manchester United that they have. I have seen what they have to offer and wouldn't buy it, however most of their Australian stuff seems ok though. They are a bricks and mortar ebay imo! Hit and miss with legit and questionable so read between the lines . Just remember what is a COA ? A piece of paper! It's not from lucas films or a particularly reputable dealer so buyer beware.
 
Thanks for the reply. The seller that has the star wars also has a few other items that i have had a look at and compared to other examples online and again i am questioning the authenticity

I know no two autos are the same and autographs always vary but one does have to question the authenticity

On a look at some other examples it is tough to say. The topps sticker auto is not a good thing to compare against. As the person gets sent sheets of the stickers to sign and they get lazy on them. Very few athletes/ celebs or just ppl in general would be bothered to be consistent over 100+ signatures in one sitting.
Whilst I don't have confidence in S&L I would try to research a bit more before you write this one off. What makes me think it MAY be ok is that mark and harrison are in silver yet carrie is blue. Makes me think it ciuld have been signed at 2 events ie a comicon and something else perhaps? Maybe ask if there is any provenance as to where the signatures were done. It may help??
 
Yeah I know I cant go off the topp's card BUT that's how the majority of his auto looks like. I have no questions over the other two auto's I have studies others and they look the same.

I just have questions over the way Harrison's F is as I can only find a few examples when he has signed like this. I also know hes a extremely tough signer and his autos always look rushed where this one is a very clean example.

Alarm bells are just going off in my head that it seems too good to be true.

Do your research and trust your gut.... you have done one ;) And if you ever want to sell this auto others are going to have the same concerns and it may make it hard to move.
 
So i rang Superstars & Legends WA (The store that authenticated the item)

He said that "workers" can buy items websites websites or dealers they use and then Superstars issues there own COA. So how do they know what they are buying is authentic?

I have seen four items that are all from the WA store that all look questionable when compared to PSA/DNA or signed in person with photographic evidence items

Doesnt write a good picture for them

Superstars and Legends have been around sense the 90s and even then all their signed items were questionable except for limited edition numbered items that they got from other shops as trade ins. Yep Superstars used to let anyone trade in a signature item from anyones collection for store credit. Who knows where 1/2 their items have come from as i would never buy from them but this is just my opinion.

WOW thats not good at all I had no idea about that

They offer a 100% authentic or money back. Wonder if anyone has proven an item is fake. I bet they know they can offer this as no one will ever question it.
 
Ok so here are two more "questionable" items

Did some research and none of the autos on either photos look like they should. Not even close

I am telling you that unless its a limited edition numbered run or print with a certification certificate from a top line company (for example Hollywood Heroes, Legends Genuine Memorabilia, Upper Deck, Cricket Australia etc etc) i wouldn't spend more than $1 on the item. More than 75% of all these shops, Ebay online memorabilia shops and no name company's are fraudulent in everyway. In the USA as we speak their are quite a few memorabilia stores been forced to shut or close down by the under cover fraud squads and some are even getting sued by customers for selling the buyers fake items.
 
Completely agree. I asked the Victorian store question about a signed item that is not UDA and they said to check there website which says
