Damm that sux man! Sounds like it was someone who knew what was in there?? Thats dodgy- but they cant have registered a ripped/empty box at the post office(although not big on HK law????)
Had it happen before Timmy but with no insurance. It wouldn't of been shipped like that and it wont show up anywhere but eBay I say. File a report for compensation and keep all the documentation etc. Its sad you don't have it but not much you can do card wise except look out for it.
The postal system is pretty bad for it, just today the package from "Kobe4MVP" was half opened (obviously not a Vince fan!) and I have had a few not rock up, and yes even some appear empty, I have a box now, and at least then you can report it straight away, but those forms are useless. File a paypal claim and let him chase it up from his end.
I was the same as Chad, my wasn't insured and all I got was an opened envelope in my mailbox. I took it too the post office and they told me there was nothing they could do.
I'd file a claim at the post office and if that get's you no where I'd open a paypal dispute.
Terrible news mate. Hopefully something good will come of it...by the way did it have the card valued on the outside? I know cards we send insured from NZ u have to put a $ value on the outside of the parcel. Maybe someone saw 'trading card -$220' and that's why they nabbed it.
Claim through the post office, as you will definately get your money back through them as the package was damaged before you had a chance to get your hands on it. Keep evidence (postie as witness would be great, also keep opened package), and give the post office evidence of what was purchased (invoice). You could certainly also try a Paypal claim...maybe you can double dip as compensation for losing a great card!
Unfortunately for you to get your money back thru Paypal, the seller, who seems to be quite helpful? will lose out...hopefully aust post can sort it out
Not the sellers fault and paypal will just hurt them IF you get any money back. Seeing they insured it its up to the seller to get the ball rolling with its postal system to get you your money back for the amount insured. Hopefully thats the full amount Timmy.
i would say that someone at the local post office took it, every time we recieve mail that has been ripped etc they always put on their tape which says damaged or opened by post office, can't remember exactly as we haven't had one for awhile.
keep a eye on ebay, also did it have a serial number as that would help.
I've had parcels just NOT turn up, and there was a few hundred in it.... Never looked on ebay to see if they've ever been listed.
Anyways..
If it was insured (hopefully enough to cover it), you can file a PayPal claim, not to hurt the seller, just to recover your loss.
The seller can then file a claim (on insurance) from the Postal Service. You may be required to sign a form (Most likely something similar to a Stat. Dec.) to say it didnt arrive. HOPEFULLY despite the envelope arriving and the contents not, you guys might have a leg to sign.
So long as you didnt sign that it arrived.
Good luck buddy, hope it works out for you both.

p.s. can you change your Avatar and signature... I always find myself reading your posts over and over and over and over.....
