I never once flopped when I played social comp (as an undersized center height-wise) and but definitely saw it happen a few times - especially the one team who always played dirty but got away with it as the ref for each game we played against them was from the same church (Hughes baptist, Canberra). God knows I could have flopped when I copped a deliberate forearm to the face in one game (directly in front of the secondary ref who didn't say a single thing), but I didn't - simply don't believe in it. I mean, I know I was well and truly placed, I did not lift my pivot foot on the defensive spin and i still get called for a defensive foul by a ref who is at the other end of the court and has eight players between him and the play? sorry for the rant.
 
I see nothing wrong with making sure a ref see's there has been contact, but only if the contact was legitimate to warrant a foul in the first place.
 
I hate flopping as well, but this will be a hard rule for the refs if the NBA bans flopping. It's really hard to see flops in real-time compaired to replays.

Doesn't he have to get it past the "competition committee" or something!?
 
Yeah saw this, congrats Stern, you managed to widely publicise a stain on the game in a light manner not so smart really, wtf was he thinking...
