78 Topps DR.J BCCG 10
Have no idea how these usually grade, maybe chad would know, maybe its worth getting reslabbed by bgs?

it would probably go down to and 8-9 via bgs most probably but would still be worth it i think.

i got the kareem of that. very nice

Not worth getting BGS or as its called for vintage BVG to slab for you. The fact its in a BCCG slab actually lowers the value. Its probably closest to a psa 8. That makes it worth about $10US so getting it reslabbed is more expensive than just buying a psa 8. The 78 topps set it pretty easy to get in nice condition.

Any Dr J is a nice card so I'd either keep it as it is or bust it and keep it.

I got sucked in by there grades when i first started back in the hobby. Thought it was good until wise old Jimmy Jackson worded me up.

This is what I dont understand you are saying a BCCG 10 is closer to a psa 8 ????????? there is no higher than a BCCG 10 so therefore a BCCG 10 could get a psa 8 or a psa 9 or a psa 10 and the same as BGS 7 or 8 or 9 or anything inbetween it could be anything. I've had a bccg 10 card cracked for a bgs 9.5. Im not saying that this card would get any kind of grade hell it may be a psa7 or 6, but if it recieves a BCCG10 thats the highest it can be given from that particular company and therefore there is no way to judge on face value (unless the card is in your hand) what grade it could possibly get.
An example is the jordan rookie that got a PSA10 everyone assumed it was a BGS9.5 it was cracked and was the first ever jordan RC to be graded BGS 10 pristine, so as I say unless you have the card theres no way you can tell.
I also have a dirk auto that is bgs 9.5 imo its about a bgs 8.5 at the most and on the other hand have a dirk 1/1 thats bgs 8.5 but I cannot see for the life of me how it didnt get a 10 or 9.5 at least. SO I guess other than the shape the card is in it also depends alot on what grader you get on any given day.
But I appreciate ya input Chad as I know you are the vintage card king, im just gonna keep it as is and sit it on my pc to look at :) Good old Dr.J

Edit : wow that may be the longest post I've ever written lol
