...that my webstore is down.

At around 6.00pm I got an email from my hosting provider, telling me that my account had been suspended because of a "terms of service violation relating to copyright."

I can only assume that someone from the UFC did not like me using "Octagon".

Think it's a bit lame/heavy-handed if that is the reason. But not going to argue if it is the UFC (or Topps maybe?) because I need them both for the trading cards business, and for the MMA clothing brand I'm trying to launch.

Will know more after 11.00pm tonight when their TOS department opens and I can talk to someone. Have already registered a new .com. We'll have to see what happens.

That sucks man, hopefully you don't lose the money spent towards that site and your able to get something back or even just change what the issue was.

Keep us posted.

Okay, so basically I just got spanked by Zuffa.

Geez I knew they were pretty touchey about the UFC name but that's a bit harsh. Are you going to rename the site or just close it down?

Setting up a new site, from scratch, with a new hosting company.

Whole thing has left a bad taste in the mouth. Didn't really feel like watching TUF last night...

So this morning I get another email from Bluehost, containing a second letter from Zuffa, in which they are demanding all the personal details of the owners of the website, ie; me.

I've contacted the law firm representing Zuffa and told them I only started the site as a hobby, and sent them copies of my emails to Bluehost, telling them to immediately delete all the data from the site, and to transfer ownership of the domain names to Zuffa.

Will keep you all posted on what happens next.

Seriously, if this carries on I may sell my collection and never watch the UFC again...

I like watching UFC and all but have always thought and said the dudes behind it are money hungry *****s that don't give a damn about the fans. I hope for your sake mate they don't try o take this any further.

This sounds really bad. Once a big company has there sights set on you it can be a very expensive exercise :( I was very careful not to mention any large companies in my shop name, online sites and pages for that very reason. I hope it is just a scare tactic and it turns out to be a minor issue. Good luck

So I've transferred the old website name over to Zuffa. They haven't even asked for the .net version yet, and I've got a number of emails between myself and the law firm, that would clearly show my willingness to co-operate in taking down the site, if I ever needed them in court.

So hopefully the major part of the drama is over.

Got the new site up and running... let me know what you think. :)
