Has anyone noticed the difference between the Wally Lewis and Norm Provan foil signatures from 08 Centenary to those in the 2014 Legends Signatures?

I will upload the pictures comparing them later tonight but the difference, particularly with the Lewis is significant.

Given that both Lewis & Provan hand signed cards for the 08 Centenary release I am surprised that they just didn't use one of these signatures as the 'cast' for the foil sigs.

maybe because they are using up to date signatures, so people can't say they used old signatures and did not pay them royalties or payment for sigs.
Also adds to authenticity, yes these blokes are getting older look at their sigs now compared to 2008.

Yep, not an expert but have never seen a Wally auto like that. The Provan isn't as bad but still has some difference

I am not 100% sure about this. With most select signatures, players might have been asked to sign them in a way to make that particular signature card different than they would normally sign. I have very rarely seen Jarryd Hayne sign like he signed his select redemption. There are couple select signature cards different to what the players normally sign. Select may have requested if wally could sign the foil sig in a unique variant.

The Paul Harragon base card foil sig in the 1996 Gold Signature is totally different to all his other signatures I've seen, including his signature card in the same set!

Makes me wonder if some of those Gold Signatures are the figment of Dynamic's imagination.

That would seem logical Moz.

A quick squiggle for the box hit TOTCFS and a quality signature for the redemptions

It is strange.

I have never seen Provan sign anything other than his full name i.e. Norm Provan

I'm sorry the offered theory doesn't seem logical to me. Why would you do a release and say to the players hey make this look nothing like your normal signature it just doesn't make sense.

I just can't think of any other reason though.

Both players signed on card autos in this release so you would think that they would have just used those as the foil signatures.

I might fire select off an email this week just for interests sake.

What are opinions of the other autos?

Ron Coote on the foil has his middle initial J which isn't his go to signature.

Reg Gasnier always signed Reg and on the foil it is R and even his G is a bit different.

Langlands is the same he always signed Graeme (apart from recentlyas he's struggling to fit it in)and on the foil it is G F.

I'd be curious to understand why.
