Recently I did a trade with a member of these boards.

I was to recieve a bunch of GU's,auto and #'d cards.

The last PM I sent to this person reminded him I wanted the cards shipped properly ie Sleeves/Toploader/Padded Mailer which he replied "yes of course..."

I recieved the cards today and about half of them were CREASED! Take a base card and fold it in half. (Thats what they look like)

Reason for the damaged cards?? NO toploaders. Thats right. You heard correctly. No F#@#$king toploaders.
All the cards were sleeved and then crammed into ONE teambag.

I have sent this member a PM about the situation and if he doesn't accept responsibility or makes up BS excuses then I'll name and shame him right here.

Toploaders= Common sense??? Apparrently not.

i feel your pain.

yesterday i received 2 cards both crammed into the SAME penny sleeve, which was inside a regular size toploader, that was broken and had been "repaired" with sticky tape.
to cap it off, the 2 cards were a valuable insert (with moderate corner damage) and a card for a player collection.
why someone would use just one penny sleeve for 2 cards is beyond my comprehension.

not really sure how to deal with this, as i still wish to keep the cards i received, but i'm decidedly peeved at the comprehensive lack of care shown.

obviously this isnt as bad as no toploader(s) at all, but should we not expect sufficient protection be applied at all times?

Yeah c'mon guys its just common sense and it has been said over and over again. Pack and post the cards the way YOU would like to recieve them.

There will be a post going up shortly on how to pack stuff stickyd to one of the forums with info on what we consider the minimum in doing when posting stuff. Members that don't comply with that more than once will not be able to trade on the board. Pretty simple. Cards are a great hobby and easy to send but just as easy to ruin due to lazy mail techniques. If you don't want to pack cards properly then the other members don't want you here. They are the ones effected by your lack of care.

Damn Timmy you have no luck with the mail. :-(

Proto was that a member here or from eBay etc??

Isnt that what the feedback system's for? If it's a shit transaction (which I'd say it was) then say it how it is.

Why do people continue to take shortcuts? They're not saving anything by sending cards in sleeves/team bags etc, I mean 9/10 members here have stuff coming in each week, and how do they arrive??? IN TOP LOADERS!!!

C'mon people, a little more respect yeah??

Yep Mavs. Thats worth a neg. Simple but a guidelines would help too.

That way traders know whats expected of them although they should know better.

Totally!

Sure this is not as big, and (in a way) Important to us as our Ebay Feedback, and I'd think the powers that be would actually have the balls to help us out with a retaliation-left feedback, unlike Ebay.

So if ya been delt with a shit transaction, tell us, I know I'd like to hear about one if I was dealing with that person....

Damn Timmy you have no luck with the mail.

I'm having a horror run and the moment. Cards not turning up, Cards sent with plain envelopes, morons ageeing to a deal and then disappearing and now this!

I have never heard of someone sending out cards with T/L's.

I always go out of my way to make sure people get their cards in minty fresh condition but I'm always on the end of bad shipping/packaging.

Ok guys I'll do a sticky post first thing tonight with what to do and what not to do. Those that don't want to play ball and ruin it for everyone not to mention ruin nice cards can simply not trade. There has been plenty of excuses so far but if everyone reads whats expected then there is no excuse after that.

everyone happy with that?

Thats a good idea. That way these idiots will know whats expected of them.
Keep this thread bumped cause I'm late for school. Laters Gangsta's. :)

would it be possible to have new members refered directly to a 'packing procedures information' page upon their agreeing to their first trade?

Bad luck Timmy.

As Chad said, it really is common sense. It really doesnt take much at all to make sure the cards you are sending out are packaged safely.

There is nothing more infuriating than receiving cards you have bought and finding that they have been damaged whilst in transit due to poor packaging.

When sending out cards, pack them as if you would be the person receiving the cards. Would you be happy to receive cards in the way you have packaged them? Ask yourself would you be confident of them arriving safely and in the same condition as when they were sent.

Its really that simple.

Thankfully a majority of the members here package cards well. I personally have not received any cards that have not been adequately protected.

I think the sticky thread on packaging is a great idea!

Cheers
Matt

Man, I take pride in my packaging - even if it means recycling bubble mailers (hey Chad?) I will make sure the cards are packed well and protected! NO DARN EXCUSE for shitty packaging.

Totally agree.... I received the same (damaged card because of packaging) a few months back....

Agree with the concept, Chad, but what are the chances of Admin setting up a signup agreement that covers these issues (& others like ettiquette etc) as part of their signup process?

But yeah, benefit of the doubt 1st time, but if it happens a 2nd time, sorry, but your out.

If the toploader is worth more than the card, I don't think its that much of a problem.

I mean, for a person wanting a common to complete a set or something, sending in an envelope is something I'd do. However, if the card is worth a couple of bucks or greater, then you should package accordingly

Are you serious, it shouldnt matter what card it is. It should be sent in a top loader, Im sorry to hear about the card KG.
