hey there fellow oct3rs

i've been using my digi to take pics of my cards for like 12 months now, & i think
its time for me to purchase myself a scanner.

I'd like to see what kinda scanners are used by other members of oct, i only require it for cards, & i only have a laptop, so prob looking for something small & light weight

I use a Canon Multi-Function MP160 (Print/Scan/Copy). Be careful when buying these as they sell them VERY cheap and then you pay high prices for the ink.

I've been looking at getting a cheap scanner as taking photos and then uploading then is more of a chore then I think it's worth.

How do you think I would go with just a cheap scanner? I would only be looking at it for the scanning function my missus already has a printer.

Currently using a canon lide 100
Cheap and does a great job
Can you scan cards in holders though with this scanner ? I thought lide scanners needed the item to be directly on the plate. At least from memory the lide scanners couldnt scan graded cards or cards in one touches etc as it focussed on the item directly on the plate and the cards were always out of focus.

Here you go sir...no dramas

This is my scanner - a HP Scanjet 4850. In my research over the years eiter HP or Lexmark scan refractor cards the best - makes them all shiny :)

Heres a card in a one touch
