While he'll never see this post, I just wanted to give an openly pat on the back for the way this guy does his business on Ebay.

I purchased a card this morning (very early - via snipe). I never had enough time to ask prior if they'd ship Internationally (ebay.com).

So I get a message saying "would it be ok to charge $3.41 postage, I've never shipped outside USA before".

I thanked him, and said it would be perfect!

First to accept me as winning bidder (being international buyer), and secondly to charge so little postage, can't complain about that!

I also have a similar story of an american seller, worinett, he didnt know how much postage would be, so he asked me, i told him normally .84c is on US packages + envelope + top loader, etc, then i get invoice with .84c postage charge!! and i only paid $1.99 for the card, top bloke!

Snipe means to shoot. lol.

Nah it's a term for Auctions, where you use an electronic bid to bid on your behalf in the closing seconds of an Auction.

I use Vrane (www.vrane.com), it's free, only allows 1 snipe at a time, you can pay for others also (just Google for Auction Snipers).

Most people use Snipering as a Bidding method if they're not going to be at their computer when the Auction(s) end.

I use mine most of the time (9/10 Bids).

That's really interesting - I didn't know such a thing existed. I was chasing a Steve Nash auto on Thursday but missed out cos I got so busy at work in the last hour of the auction, I couldn't get a bid on (and my boss was standing right next to me [-X )

Also helps in a couple of ways...

1 - you arent competing during the auction for being the current high bidder (thus lowering your end price if successful)

2 - you dont need to watch it to see if you won (you get an email saying you bid, that is of course if it doesnt go over your maximum set bid).

3 - you dont need to worry about bidding while your boss is next to you...

I've got another good US Ebay seller story....last week I saw a guy selling big player lots of 92/93 Fleer/Tony's Pizza...I only need about 5-6 cards to finish the set, so I e-mail him to see if he can help. He e-mails me the next day to say he has them and if I give my address he'll post them for nothing!!!! (I even offered to cover postage...but he wouldn't take any payment) There are still some good sellers in the US!!!

Yeah, I agree with Marcus. Too often we focus on the sellers who charge us more than we need, and hardly ever on those who go above & beyond.

I think we should start a "Recommended Seller" thread for these types of so we can support those who deserve our business.
