Shane Watson - Greatest player in the history of cricket???

Seen as your not allowed to say anything REMOTELY negative or objectional on this site, I mean the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I am typing.

I hope Shane Watson is in the Australian cricket team for the next ten years. The way he portrays himself on the field is an excellent example to not just young cricketers, but young sportsmen in general. He is also an extremely likeable person when being interviewed and never says anything that goes close to sounding arrogant, ignorant, up himself, cocky or unlikeable.

He is the reason why every game that I have watched this summer of the Aussie team, I have REALLY REALLY wanted the aussies to win. When this summer is over and we go to New Zealand, I would LOVE it if Australia also went through that tour undefeated.

I cant wait til we play India or South Africa or England, just so we can see how REALLY REALLY great Watson is

I walked past Shane Watson in Rundle Mall the day before the Adelaide test and do you know, he was behaving like a normal human being!

I think what annoys people is that in general this is a pretty helpful and friendly environment and this is not helped by inflammatory attacks from keyboar heroes.

Awesome post mate. All the hallmarks of jealousy. I'm sure Watson is thinking of your opinion when he's breaking his bed with Lee Furlong with his Allan Border Medal swinging from his neck. Every component of his life is better than yours, or else you wouldn't be here posting your limp-wristed comments.

Now that that third post has been written, why did my opinion of Shane Watson turn into a personal attack at me?? Is this a public internet forum?? For general discussion and opinion?? Isnt that what internet forums are about??

Im 29 and for my entire life have followed and supported the Australian cricket team, but this summer, under the attitude and leadership of Ricky Ponting, they have become an unlikeable bunch. They have beaten up on, and rightly so, the two WORST teams in world cricket and after the game carried on in the media about how were rebuilding a dynasty and getting back to the top of world cricket. Watson, Haddin and Bollinger havent let an interview go by where they havent degraded or put down the opposition in one way or another. Bollinger's been in the team for five minutes and hes mouthing off.

Watson has had ONE good summer of cricket, up against the two worst teams. Bollinger has had ONE good summer of cricket against the two worst teams. Its hardly anything special. Put it together over a couple of years, beat the worlds best THEN brag all you want!!!

and the sarcastic tone in which you wrote your first post didn't help your cause.

The first thread was locked, it was inappropriate saying how you wished he would get injured. It's ok to have a strong opinion against him, but there is right and appropriate way to write it, wishing someone a serious injury is pretty poor form.

Fair call on the opinion side of things, but your whole pre conceived " I hate Watson and he's A W@nker" opinion is fairly well full of sh!t.
Seriously, I think the guy acted like a spoilt brat with his celebration of Gayles wicket and theres been a couple of other incidents where he has shown his immaturity, but to wish injury upon him? Get a grip champ! Has he personally offended you somehow?
He's a GREAT cricketer, he would have done a hell of alot more if he could have just stayed injury free....

Seriously, jealousy, hatred or anything else you feel towards him aside, how can you state that he isn't a good cricketer? It bewilders me why so many people hang sh!t on him........

Oh and btw, Pakistan and the Windies are both well below par, but name a team, other then South Africa that have come out here in the last 10 years and given us a red hot go.....

The only thing i am going to say is: This bloke got dropped from the team, didn't get a game for years because he was injured for most of it, and still had enough in him to at least try to get back to the top- this is what he has done- he's held a regular spot, no injuries and he wins a AB medal in his first full season back. Shane Watson should be proud and we should be proud of him. My 2c

Well as the person who closed your first thread ill also post this message with the hidden meaning that I am actually meaning the opposite of what I am typing.

I love it when posters who are unable to get onto other sites pop in and post wonderful threads where they wish injury and illness to an elite sportsman playing in one of our national teams.

I also hate closing threads.
