Scientology take 2!

Ok, going to try this again, but this is not to be turned into a religious discussion!

Have done a bit more research on this so-called "religion" and have discovered some more TRUE facts about the cause.

- All their services cost money
- The "elite" scientologists (ie Tom Cruise & others) have these powers so they believe (this is actual fact) they can; move inanimate objects with their mind, leave their bodies at will, and telepathically communicate with and control the behaviour of animals and humans. They can physically control MEST which is an acronym for Matter, Energy, Space & Time.
- Most of scientologies documents are unknown to members apart from the top levels (OT VII or "Operating Thetan").
- More details concerningthe earlier mentioned Xenu story. When the souls of the beings were bombed, they were scattered and eventually caught in electronic traps that "implanted" false ideas such as God, Christ and organised religion.
- There base of operations exists in Clearwater USA with 100's of cameras watching everyones every move.
- L. Ron Hubbard created the actual religious movement when he was in utter financial ruin.

Well there you have it! Comments on the issues presented are welcomed, issues unrelated are unecessary!

I'm glad you asked Richo! They have a process called auditing which is a necessity in scientololgy, not unlike going to confession in Catholocism, but auditing is more frequent, it is required and it cost a lot of money! Basic auditing cost a minimum of $1000, and advance auditing ranges from $20,000-$40,000! Everything else they do cost money, like the equivalent of going to church for scientologists cost money. Their justification is that they don't have 2000 years of savings. Most of the employees are volunteers or live on way below minimum wage, but get cheap or free auditing sessions.

No they believe that they are aliens and that when they get to a certain level they can control their physical state completely, whatever that means!

How much time do you have?

Auditing uses a machine called an E-meter. This meter is like a lie detector and reads changes in electromagnetic activity, or how you change when you talk about something. An Auditing session lasts for 12.5 hours. An Auditer spends the time asking questions that will "clean" the person being audited. Actually this explanation might be better...

They believe that all our problems come from past episodes in our lives. This procees "cleanses" members by bringing out bad things that have happened in their past and seeing them for what they are. By doing this the the past "bad things" are addressed and the matter has been removed from their, I guess "feelings over the issue? They do this as oppose to medicines etc. The process means to break a person so they "confess" what is deep down withing them, and by recognising this event the person being audited will come to a positive realisation.

This is an example of their main "services". Also, the more money you put into the organisation, the quicker and better chance you have of being an "enlightened" member.

do you know what their major beef is with psychology Jase? i think it has something to do with the fact that psychologists can administer mind altering drugs and theyre really against that or something...

id love to know what draws celebrities to it though. apart from the fact you have to be loaded, which most celebrities are. isaac hayes, cruise, travolta, Beck, Catherine Bell (god shes a fox)...the list goes on.

Yeah I think you're right with that one apart from the fact that you mean psychiatrists. They are the ones that administer medication for "all" problems. I think psychologists do psychology because they don't believe medicine should be the first call. Anyway, my GF is doing her PhD and masters in psychology and that is what she believes.

id love to know what draws celebrities to it though. apart from the fact you have to be loaded, which most celebrities are. isaac hayes, cruise, travolta, Beck, Catherine Bell (god shes a fox)...the list goes on.

There was a big campaign to get celebrities on board so that they could have a better avenue to spread the word. Their main belief I guess is that they know how to save the universe and by getting everyone on board they think they can do this. I just hope I'm not arouind whent hey enforce their power and take over the world! I have a feeling that is their aim a la the robots in the Matrix...and I'm not kidding!

Being able to pay for this service means that they will have more sessions which help them get to their required level.
