Just a newbie question, what do you guys use to get the pics of your cards? a scanner? if you so what ones are people using? and what do you think of it....

Just trying to get some advice before purchasing one for myself....

I use a scanner, I scored an older canon flatbed for free from a friend which does a good job. If you're after great qualiy, for example, nice colours on your refractor scans, I'm sure some quick squizes at some bucket accounts followed by some PM's might get some results for you.

I recommend an HP. I'm using an HP 2610 All In 1. (I think it's a 2610).

I've tried Lexmark, Canon, and another brand (can't recall it's name), and I've not been satisfied with them until I got the HP from work.

Take note of certain aspects when scanning:
* Do the colours scan correctly (I had green GU pieces scanning BROWN)
* Do Refractors scan ok
* Do graded/encased cards scan ok, sometimes the Scanner only focuses on the first surface, and not the actual card

I also have a HP all-in-one and works great.

Make sure it's one of those deep scanning ones.

Otherwise, certain cards would scan well. Like my piece of s###
