Lots of new faces and plenty of buying and trading going on here.

Been a while since we've had a scan of the day thread and it would be great to see a few of the newer guys post their stuff.

Post up your fav Rookie card then. Please choose only one so the thread doesn't get out of control. Doesn't have to be a pricey or even popular card, just one that means a lot to you.

Always a good thread as even the usual posters change their minds

My Moses RC. It's not a mint version but I've had it for at least 15 years and wouldn't part with it (though I will get a graded one someday).

One of the first rookie card that i ever got was this around 13 years ago. It's still in pack fresh condition. Sorry about the shitty scan.

I wonder if perhaps we should be more strict on what is a true RC and what is just a first year card.
If you are wanted to, you could argue my Finest refractor scan is a parallel of a RC, and isnt itself a true RC. If we stuck to that, would rule out a few of the cards shown. Interested on your thoughts on this.

Personally I believe that rookie cards are from the base set and parallels of the base set (refractors, gold, gems, etc). All others are first year inserts to me and not a rookie card.


Also, true rookie cards I believe would be just the base set but hey, they're boring to collect so I include the base parallels

Disagree. RC's are base set only. Parallels (refractors/gold etc) are inserts and are not RCs. But to answer Hill's question, I say we should stick with Chad's intention - True RCs.

If someone wants to start another thread with "Favourite First Year Card", then most should go in there.

Anyway, mine would be the 92/93 UD Shaq RC (as already displayed, so I won't duplicate).

I would have thought that any first year card is automatically a rookie card

But I agree there is a difference between a "true" RC and a RC.

But anyway, changed my favourite Rookie card above given the new rule
