Hi guys, also received this card last week, but wanted to do a seperate thread to get opinions before I go off like a frog in a sock.
Ok.....................here is the card.............
Woo! Now.....here is the set finally completed after 2 long years.........
So........before I get jizzed up beyond recognition, did you spot the difference between my mailday card & the rest of the set?
Of course you did!
So it begs the question.......is my mailday auto a fake? Has anyone else seen this Rondo card with the auto on the letter as opposed to the side of the card? I knew what I was buying off eBay, I decided to take the chance. I have been over the card with a fine tooth comb, & I just cant see any sort of defect that would suggest this is a fake? The auto on the letter is a little different. But seeing many autos on different chronology letters, the autos can look a little different compared to a sharpie on card / sticker.
So my ozcard bretheren, have I completed the name or have I bought a fake?
I guess, firstly, big props on completing the name tag! Thats truly awesome, how these come out when they are done, not an easy feat.
Fake or not?
Man, my first reaction is fake for sure. I mean, are people meant to believe that Rondo gets to card number 95 and says "Ohhhhh, pen is running out, I'm gonna start signing on the letter and with a different pen too". And then go "Ooops, I do have another blue pen, I might start signing on the side again with it".
But on the other hand, the card looks down right real if you didn't see the auto thing on it. I don't know, in hand, does it look and feel different to other cards in the set?
Hard to tell from pics, but surely fakes could not be this good?
How about the printed serial number? Surely that would be a give away? Especially, is someone else has a number #95 in the world.
Either way, if you are happy it with, then I say no issue
Otherwise, i'd be inclined to pick up another if it came up.
Nice Letter. I remember I bought one off EBay. Was shipped but never arrived. Lost in the mail. Don't remember want number it was but it was the letter "O" from memory.
