I just heard news that Andrew ‘Roy’ Symonds has passed away last night. Reports say a single car crash outside of Townsville.

Great player, very entertaining, brilliant in the field, worth 30 runs an innings in the field alone. I was at the Gabba when he levelled that pitch invader.

I will always be disappointed with how CA handled his allegations of racism.

Anyway, another one gone too soon. RIP Roy.

Very, very sad. A laconic Aussie who gave it his all. Always felt he was thrown under the bus by CA. Was coming in to his own as a commentator and didn’t talk bullshit. A very sad loss.
