The Wedding Anniversary Mail Day!
In early November it is my 8th Wedding Anniversary, my wife and I decided from the outset, rather than buy all the "usual" things for each other like we do for Birthdays and Christmas we would keep things interesting by sticking with the traditional wedding aniversary gifts.
That way it would make the search challenging and the receipt of our presents a surprise........this year my wife has outdone herself but I'll let you cricket followers be the judge of that; here is what I got in the mail today:
Bradman 'The Cover Drive' - Bronze
Limited Edition of 500; this one is numbered 111/500
Certificate of Limitation from Price-Waterhouse-Coopers
Legends has cast a separate, smaller edition of 'The Cover Drive' in the traditional sculptor's medium of bronze. Only 500 cricket-lovers world-wide will become an owner of 'The Cover Drive' - cast by hand in solid bronze through the centuries-old 'lost wax' tradition. The work, undertaken by skilled artisans, is intense and demanding,… the result is exquisite and timeless.v
The majestic Bradman cover drive that so often filled opposing bowlers with dismay, has been dramatically brought back to life. It is not difficult to visualise the ball tearing across the grass, and hear it crashing into the pickets. From every angle the master batsman's signature shot is authentic and life-like.
The detail is astonishing… From every angle 'The Cover Drive' will captivate you and fire your imagination. The two-dimensional form has now been dramatically brought to life by acclaimed sculptor, Fredric Whitehouse, who is renowned for his work with the human form.
Mounted proudly on a rich, mahogany plinth, and standing an impressive 14 centimetres tall, this is a stunning addition to your home or office, and is sure to become a real talking point for cricket-lovers of all ages.
The Cover Drive' is truly a rare work of art. Each edition is individually numbered on a cast Bronze title-plaque and limited to just 500, world-wide.
To ensure the integrity of the edition, each sculpture came with it's own matching, numbered Certificate of Limitation from the major independent Chartered Accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Importantly, royalties from the sale of 'The Cover Drive' were shared with The Bradman Museum and the development of the game of cricket in Australia.
Thanks for looking
