Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Running back Alfred Morris of the Washington Redskins is the Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on December 6-10, the NFL announced today. Morris rushed for 122 yards on 23 carries and scored one touchdown in the Redskins’ 31-28 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens.
Morris was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com. The other finalists were wide receiver Travis Benjamin of the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles, safety Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings and running back David Wilson of the New York Giants.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual “NFL Honors†awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.
