Well as you all know by now, I was in the Carolinas for 3 days over this past week. After I checked out of the hotel I stayed at in Charlotte back on Thursday, I decided to hit up both card shops as one of the shops was in a state I never been to before. Since it was not to far out of Charlotte, I figured I would go and check it out. The 1st shop I stopped at was Grand Slam BB cards in Rock Hill,SC.
At this shop in South Carolina, there was not much selection basketball wise. Their basketball RCs at this store were sort of overpriced. They had some individual cards marked 1/2 off that were good bargains. In the middle of this shop, there was tons of base to go through for each sport. I didn't want to spend all day going through their base even though I enjoy IP autos alot but I was mainly hoping to get a box to bust. They only had 1 basketball box left and told me they didn't carry much hoop wise this time around because it was not a good seller in this area. I would probably recommend this shop to anyone that is big into collecting baseball and football as they had a good selection of cards for those 2 sports. If I was able to stay in the Carolinas another day, I probably would of went through some more base cards to see if I could find anything for future IP autos. I did find a few though and I also picked this up:
That will go towards my small Pistons collection I have outside of collecting Tayshaun Prince.
My next stop I made was to AAA Collectibles in Matthews,NC as its the only card shop closest to Charlotte. I guess this shop has been around awhile and they had a better selection basketball card wise. After thinking it over for about 20 minutes, I decided on a box of the regular Panini they had. Before I show you the big hits I had out of that box, I picked this up as well:
Now here are the big hits I had out of the Panini box:
The three #'d base cards are all #'d /199.
That is all I got result wise from those 2 card shops in the Carolinas. I hope this thread helps anybody that might be traveling to Charlotte in the future that collects basketball cards in deciding whether to visit both shops or not.
