I know there is a few of us that would love if you could work something out with the original redemption card holder of the Kaman that UD screwed over telling him it never got made and it either got backdoored out of UD or just sent out regardless of them telling him they would contact him if it surfaced.

Poor guy got the royal treatment and didn't get a bid in on the original auction when it surfaced.

Chad, I have to agree with you!

For those that don't know the story, Frances from Glendale (a member of the website Hobby Kings) who has an awesome Kaman collection won the redemption card for the Kaman Ultimate logoman off ebay. It seems that Kaman took a while to get the cards back to UD so they replaced the logoman redemption with a Billups 1/1 Ultimate auto.

UD claimed the logoman was never made.

A few weeks ago the card surfaces with a big time buyer of UD product.

It gets worse, Frances had computer issues and couldnt bid on the card which has since made its way into Foolish's collection.

Foolish, Its a beautiful card and one im sure you will probably keep.

My only message to you is that if it is for sale or trade at anytime in the future, please give Frances on HK first shot at it. That's all I ask. Send me a message if you want to!

Otherwise any mailday that has that many logomen cards is an awesome mailday!

Cheers
Matt

Ive read through the topic on the other site and I didnt know about the full story.

I do feel sorry for him, but I am sure alot of people have missed out on PC cards because of competition on ebay, for me the Shannon Brown Exquisite Rookie patch auto 6/6.....Oh and not to mention the Dual Exquisite Shannon Brown/Daniel Gibson autographed logoman which was one by the guy who was going for the set on the other site......

I picked up the card for a very good price and I am happy to keep it in my PC collection for now, if I do decide to sell it ill let him know.

Have to say that's what I was thinking...saw a thread on HK about it and how he was hoping to pick it up off eBay since it was meant to be in his Kaman collection already...sad story really.

Great mailday regardless Pete! You're a Logoman magician! =D>

You do have a point, lots of player collectors have missed out on key PC cards over the years, and it’s not a nice feeling. I'm sure you felt the same way about the 2 key Shannon Brown Exquisite cards that you missed out on.

I guess a lot of collectors just really feel for the guy especially with the royal treatment UD gave him. In a perfect world, Francis would have won the card off eBay and the card would have made its way into the collection of someone who as a Kaman collector could truly appreciate the card.

I guess if the roles were reversed and it was you who had missed out on a key Shannon Brown PC card in the same situation, we would all be hoping that the card made its way into your PC as well.

As you said, you got the card at a great price and you are happy to have it in your collection which is great and I'm sure you will give him first chance if you ever decide to sell it!

Cheers

I dare say the price was so low (I was even watching to see) because alot of collectors stayed well away from it to let Francis get it cheap.

Not in any way having a go at you Pete so I hope it doesn't sound that way!

Yeah I doubt even one HK's member bid on it.

I'd go after UD with a team of lawyers if I could but UD know that cost outweighs the benefit of doing so and those smug incompetent assholes just do as they please. BRING ON the Panini era in card collecting I say and vote with your wallet.

Its a hobby not a money making game and they royally screwed over a collector once again.

It's not even the fact that he missed it on eBay - the card should NEVER have made it onto eBay in the first place. That's not the point here so you can't even compare it to other people "missing out" on PC cards because they didn't bid high enough. He did bid high enough - the first time - when he won the redemption card. This should have meant he was going to get the card. Because of Upper Decks incompetence, they sent him a replacement card which he didn't really want, then the card was mysteriously produced and made it to the market.

Upper Deck should have produced the card and sent it to the person holding the redemption. In no way should the person holding the redemption be made to pay another $200 (or more) to buy the card he already owned the rights to.

As i've said, it's totally up to you what you want to do, but how would you feel if UD gave you a royal FU on one of your PC cards you purchased the redemption for, told it wasnt going to be made, sent a ****ty replacement, only to eventually see your dream card end up on eBay ?

Noone is blaming you for buying the card (how were you supposed to know) but I know what I would be doing right now. And it isn't keeping the card.

thats what i was just thinking, UD screwed him over but they made the card available to a guy who buys a lot of their product. How is that helping the hobby and our perception of them. It SHOULD never have been made public! Bit over the sad story for Francis guys im sorry. I know when my comps been down ive found ways to get on ebay, even once going to a library.......he'd have known it was on there surely... Its great to see that HK members didnt bid, its a remarkble gesture actually that people would actually do that..big roudn of applause for them but cant blame Foolish for having a crack...keep the card mate, dont sell it, i think Francis is lucky that you have it and not that tool Durian:lol:
