I agree to a point....the agents here in the country might be a bit better though. A good reputation can be hard to get back in a town of 20,000 if you go around being a "scumbag". In the city you can afford to piss off clients (potential buyers) as there is always another buyer around the corner.

We looked for houses for 2 years before we found something we liked and could afford....that's 2 years of pissing of Real Estate agents!!!

Unfortunately, when buying you then have to deal with almost equally annoying loan merchants...the first guy we organised finance with was so useless (ie. let our loan approval run out just before we found the house we wanted), and then made angry/threatening phone calls to us when we didn't want to use him...I should have got him to come around and kicked the shit out of him, instead we organised another guy to get us the loan approval and bought about a week or two later (the loss of commission probably hurt as much as a swift kick to the guts).

I believe we have 1-2 on here... lol.

But from our experience when were buying our place, the one we were dealing with, was a pain in the arse, nag nag nag, whinge f-ckin whinge, that's all he did.

Wasnt our fault the owners did it up without permits....

Am going through the settlement thing now, but I let the other half do all the talking to em, she rang me at 4pm one day, I went straight from work, 5 minute look, yep that'll do and put an offer in the next day! But hey, as long as it has a room for my stuff, place for a big TV and somewhere to cram the dogs I'm a happy camper!

There are worse things... can we start a thread on Mother in laws??

you guys havent dealt with bad Real Estate Agents till you deal with the ones me and tara dealt with when we were renting in Mill Park (northern melbourne)

Firstly the guy was a retard right off the bat, demanded i come in after work on my way home (at 7pm on a wednesday) to pay the first month rent and the bond because the owners "didnt want to be dissapointed" so when i get there he had gone home and had left no paperwork or anything

then during the 12 months we lived there, he never once organised anything we needed done, we eventually had to bypass him and go straight to the owners who were very nice and easy to deal with

then after we moved out, we received a letter from the RTA that they wanted half the bond (about $400) because we had left the house without mowing the lawns, which we had, and werent done when we moved in anyway, so after ringing his boss, that was quickly dropped

then we get a call from him about 3 weeks later, asking if he had locked the house after leaving (mind you he had been in and done his inspection after we left) because apparently somebody "broke in" and turned all the taps on and flooded the house and destoyed all the carpets and they needed to be replaced...

about 3 months later Tara saw him on the news that he had been arrested for insurance fraud

Im so glad we have bought a house now and no longer have to deal with them

I just wish my real esate agent would ring when I ask and reply to e-mails when I e-mail !!! I ALWAYS have to ring or e-mail TWICE to get a response.......the tenants I have love her and she does get things done but she is trying my patience !!!

Can you believe this. 5 calls/4 sms from my owner today despite me saying time and time again I'm beyond busy at work and to call the girl at her desk job instead.

And now I come home after leaving both mobiles at home on a trip out to the supermarket and she has rang each one twice and sms'd both saying she wants to bring thru a potential tennant after 7pm tonight! This is at 6.30pm!

What absolute cheek! Im going to have dinner in peace and relax like I wanted to and she can get stuffed. We are already having open house on Saturday so they can bloody wait.

She also called today asking for me to be home for a property valuation tomorrow on a Friday at 2pm! On a Friday! On the last working day of the financial year!

And to top it off they have listed our place at $40 a week more than we pay and if they can't get anyone to pay I already have legal advice we don't have to pay the rent in between new tennants as the owner has made it harder to get new ones in. Funny how the they try to screw you over till you mention all the rights you know you have and that you will enforce them.

I'm fed up with this bitch after today. Hard day at work and I've had enough if you can't tell.

Landlord/Real estate from hell.

I'm going to to VCAT tomorrow and lodging complaints about it all.

On a good note just waiting on the owners approval for a new place and fingers crossed they go with us.

mill park ey.. ahh my hometime.. you didnt play at the mill park stadium did you? i'm looking to move back home from here, looking at mernda.. now that im sitting in a gold mine im planning to build there.. my fam/friends are mostly in the mill park/epping/bundoora area.. was born and raised there

yep played at Mill Park Stadium...played Monday Night A Grade and Wednesday Night B Grade...was only there 12 months though, then moved back to my old stomping ground of Bendigo
