Just gives us a bit more control over who sees what is posted. Also makes sure that people are members - unless they are members they can't send offers to trade etc.
I'm unable to sign in to the Forums due to the restricted Network access at work however i can still access the site and read all posts. This is a small positive for me when things are quiet at work but other people might have different views on this. Is there a security issue involved here or not?
I think what BEnny said is about spot on, might get a lot of losers joining just to have a look, where as now the losers are just guests and dont cause too much mischief
Maybe having to get membership approved by you mods before people can start posting would work better? Keep the morons away a bit better, there was one site i signed up to that i had to be approved before i could post (i think it was Trader Retreat???)

because CHad and Graham are brilliant men? LoL i dunno but it would have stopped what happened this afternoon with Oshmeehan resigning up with the name Chadceltics, i think someone woulda picked that one up
It's ok - if people need / like to access the site without logging in that's cool. I don't want people to not be able to read because of stupid restrictive work networks
Nothing in particular - just as we get bigger just thinking of ways to protect everyone.
Long time, no post (for me!!). Anyway, I think it's great as is. When you're not logged in you can read the threads, but don't have much access to anything else, and I feel that's the way it should be. It lets potential OZCTraders read the forums and see if they want to contribute, but it also allows those of us who want to access the site at work, but don't want to log in to view anything.
